Shooting was the difference - the Nuggets shot 53.1% and 48.65 (17-for-35 on 3's) while the Cavs shot 45.5% and 38.5%. The Cavs missed a staggering 14 free throws as Mobley went 0-for-6.
If the Cavs had Donovan Mitchell and could hit free throws this would have been a really close game. Heck, just going 26-for-32 from the line would have made it a 5-point game.
Jokic had a triple/double and was +18. Best passer in the NBA, no question. He also knocked down 3 of 4 from deep including two in a row to start the second half and get some separation that the Cavs were never able to overcome. Allen was a -18 as Jokic easily dominated that matchup, although Allen had seven offensive rebounds with is outstanding.
The Nuggets were deadly from the left corner, especially Porter. You can't give open 3's to the league's best 3-point shooting team, but the Cavs were trying to double Jokic and with his vision that is suicide.
Bruce Brown did a nice job off their bench with a line of 13/5/6 and a +10. LeVert had a great game for the Cavs.
It was great to see Garland back and he pitched in with 21 points and 8 assists. But the Nuggets just shot the ball too well from deep and from the foul line (18-for-23).
I'm looking forward to seeing these teams play in Cleveland if the Cavs have Mitchell, Wade, and Rubio back.
The good news is nobody wins in Denver so we didn't lose any ground. Milwaukee got blown out by 29 at home (by Charlotte!) and Philly also lost.
