Game Thread | Game #17 | Hawks @ Cavs | Nov. 21, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hoping for another win, this time against a team who isn't all banged up like the last two were. Granted we got some subs who are out so we have that excuse ready if needed.

Why the Hawks will win:

They're healthier.

They were off yesterday while the Cavs are on a back-to-back.

They've won 6 of 9 with the only losses coming to Boston, Milwaukee, and Utah.

Why the Cavs will win:

They're at home.

The Hawks aren't big enough up front to handle Mobley and Allen.

They're one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the league and they depend heavily on scoring from the paint.

I'll be at the game again tonight... not near as amazing seats @shoes22 but ill be there cheering my ass off.

Interesting changes with the Hawks over the summer. They traded all of their superior floor spacing to play more defensive, athletic guys, and you're really seeing the effects both good and bad. The effects so far have been seen with Trae Young, as he's averaging a career low 2pt% including a drop of about 8% at the rim from last year. 10-6 record but a pretty average point differential so far, so let's see how it goes.

I'm fully expecting trade to go 8-11 from three today and take a billion foulshots. I fully expect the game to still be going when I wake up in the UK from all the whistles

Trae Young and James Harden are everything that is wrong with today’s NBA.

Nothing but a couple of manufactured stars.

I don’t want Love to play unless he feels confident about his ability to shoot. He has to shoot well to actually contribute positively.

He’s such a negative on the Court when he can’t shoot and I don’t think it was an accident that the Cavs strung together some dominant sequences on that side of the ball in a game when Love was missing.

Love plays horrific team defense. He gets charges so people think oh Kevin contributes on that end. But he does so often at the expense of the team defense and I’m tired of watching him run out toward a guy and the guy makes one casual dribble while Kevin gets left in the dust throwing his hands up when he doesn’t have great help 18 times in a row.

I hate Trae Young’s game in getting fouls. This is a game I really want to win.
