Game Thread | Game #18 | Trail Blazers @ Cavs | Nov. 23, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I thought I'd flavor this thread with this blast from the past on Nurkic. Thanks, Lebron, for the memories.

Nothing quite like a Bron dunk to energize an entire arena. Still say this is at least a top 5 poster all time . . .

Anfernee Simons is averaging 25.1 points over his last 10 games.

Jerami Grant had 37 against Dallas and 30 against Phoenix this month. He's averaging 22.0 in November and 50% on 3's (30-for-60).

These are the two guys we need to worry about tonight. I figure Allen will be on Nurcic and Mobley will be on Grant.

That was definitely the best poster of his career.

I'm interested in seeing Simons play. Haven't seen much of him.

Grant always lights us up.

I want to play Simons straight up. Switch everything. Don’t leave Grant open in the corners. Play Nurkic physically. Give him some Lopez lovin.

We should be able to tear their backcourt to shreds and they don’t have enough to overpower us in the front court.

If we avoid coming out flat we can end this game after 3. Get some rest and get ready to give the Bucks some payback Friday

Most important thing we can do is make sure Shaedon Sharpe doesn’t get going and keep him in the half court. He’s their x factor. Lot of talent. Very green. But very very talented.

I think they will have a hard time defending us so I think they are going to have to score a lot to beat us. Nurcic is the kind of guy that has given Allen trouble in the past - big and strong. But I don't think Nurcic can beat us. Simons and Grant are the problems. I think Mobley will diffuse Grant just fine. If we can keep Simons from going nuts on us, I think we do just fine.

I ought to mention Nassar Little, a 6'5", 220 pound shooter who comes off the bench. His effective field goal percentage is 61% which puts him in the 91st percentile of wings. He's shooting 43% on 3's, putting him in the 85th percentile. He's 22, in his fourth season, and his numbers have improved dramatically over last year. He averages 15 minutes and 5 shots a game, so he doesn't score much, but his shooting percentages are impressive.

He’s a great matchup to neutralize Grant if he gets hot. Sulking about this one.
I love that word. I also love the word skulk.

Interestingly, sulking and skulking are quite similar in their meanings. Slight difference is that skulk implies bad intent.

You’d much rather have a sulker than a skulker on your hands. They’re both unhappy and unwilling to communicate, but the skulker has plans…

Someone who was actually sulking definitely wouldn’t call it skulking though, because they’d be acknowledging bad intent that wasn’t there. On the other hand, some who was skulking would most certainly be willing to mislabel it as sulking to trick someone else into thinking they weren’t a bad actor.

If you ever find someone skulking, get the hell out.

On a similar note… thaw, dethaw, and unthaw all mean the same thing.

Thank you for reading.
