Game Thread | Game #34 | Raptors @ Cavs | Dec. 23, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fluke shooting game for the Raps, no doubt, but that doesn’t mean we should ever go down by 26 on our own floor. Effort flat out wasn’t there and there is no excuse for that against a team that has beat you twice already.

Mitchell was as bad as he’s been all year and Garland didn’t step up. Darius has had way too many games this year where he is getting outplayed by 4 or 5 guys on the opposition and that should not be happening.

Raps play small and yet we only get 13 combined FGAs from Mobley and Allen. That’s not ideal. Especially considering they made 10 of them.

Want nothing to do with these dudes in the 1st round….

It’s like us vs the Pistons back in the day….. Terrible matchup….

Glass half full take. We didn't roll over and turn this into a huge blowout. Bench brought the energy and the guys brought it within a respectable 11.

Raps shot insanely well. They were hitting open 3s .. and had too many, but they hit some hard shots too. Got a real boost from their extra 3 players on the court too.

Cavs need to go into the bigs more. This is a team that has 1 real big on their roster and Khem Birch doesn't play. Allen and Mobley were getting whatever they wanted. Need to have the option to run through them in every game even though that might be beyond this coach.

Raps doing something vs our guards on D. This is the third time they've shut down Mitchland. Really need to develop counterplay against these endless wings lineups

So perplexing that we don’t force Allen/Mobley . Too many shots for everyone besides the big 4. key action against the Raps when they’re playing Siakim at the 5
Hell, Allen even started out getting a few buckets. Feed the man. Mobley can shoot over Pascal at will. No one else except Ice was hitting anything.

Why not.

Nice to see Okoro look like a rotation player at least. I like Stevens as much as the other guy, but he plays too methodically and isn’t really that good. He’s good in bits and pieces. Once Wade comes back, he probably shouldn’t be a part of the rotation. I’m not saying Okoro is the answer, but he is the only guy who consistently gets out in transition. Team plays way too slow. Maybe when Rubio comes back, that changes.

I was thinking Orlando

Height advantage on guards (Hedo and Pietrus over Mo and West) and Mike Brown like coaching moves with LeBron on Alston.

JB played big when the matchup didn’t call for it. Left Love in way too long and had Okoro and Stevens on the floor together with Mobley/Allen. JB doubling Siakim like Howard leaving wide open 3’s

JA isn’t a guy you just “feed the ball” to. He’s gonna score mostly off the pick and roll and offensive rebounds. We have to get dribble penetration to generate good looks for JA.

You atleast try it until it doesn't work.

That’s the problem…..you can’t force either of them. They both get their offense from P&R and offensive rebounds!
My kingdom for a REAL SF

This. Getting the ball into JA and Mobley is just a challenge given how long and active they are and how short Mitchell and especially Garland.
