Game Thread | Game #72 | Sixers @ Cavs | March 15, 2023 | ESPN

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
With it being the end of a back-to-back that means Rubio will be unlikely to play. We had both Mitchell and Allen out last game and I would be cautious to rush them back so close to the end of the year. We are not catching the 76ers, so I lean towards being cautious.

That would be a good way to get game action for those players that haven't seen major rotation minutes, Green, Wade, Diakite, iMobley, and Merril.

If all 4 start and play, I won't be upset at all.
Mitchell could have played but was strategically rested. He played two nights earlier. But Rubio could be out since they don't want him playing on consecutive nights.

I’d much rather avoid the Bucks and get the third seed. We’re four games behind in the loss column to Philly which is tough to make up even if we win tonight.
I agree - the third seed is much better. I assume the Knicks will be 5th and Brooklyn 6th. The Nets are 2.5 games ahead of the 7th place Heat.

So the 3rd seed would play the Nets in the first round (6-8 in their last 14) and avoid the Knicks (13-4 in their last 17). Then, after beating Brooklyn, the Cavs would face Boston, who they're 3-1 against, in the second round instead of Milwaukee.

I think they're chances of passing Philly are pretty low, but if they win tonight it's possible.

He's listed as a "game time decision". I should have pointed that out, but this quote didn't sound very optimistic:

Allen has missed the last two games and his status for Wednesday’s showdown with Philly is uncertain. Bickerstaff said the team is taking things “day to day” with Allen.

“It is just a matter of how quickly it recovers,” Bickerstaff explained. “With eyes it’s difficult to put a timetable on it.”

Doesn't sound like he'll be ready to play tonight. Darius Garland was out two weeks with his eye injury and Allen's looked just as bad.

Considering 2 days ago they described the eye as swollen shut, to playing today? I doubt it. No structural damage was the best we could of hoped for. I rather start Lopez than start Mobley at center.

I just dont want Embiid beating up on Mobley, its not that i think Lopez can guard Embiid by any means.

How do we slow down Embiid tonight assuming he has his usual strengths? Can't be Mobley alone.
It is a game we'd like to win if possible.

Only way we can slow down EMbiid without Allen is to hire one of Ja's friends or Jokic's brothers. Not recommended though.

Hopefully Diakite gets some minutes, held him to one of Embiid's very few under 20 point outings

I actually think for this match up we need as much spacing as possible so Allen out isn’t the worst even tho he is the obvious match up for Embiid. With Allen out there with Mobley I think Embiid can just clog the paint. Mobley did a good job on Embiid the first game without Allen

And I’d rather see Neto than Rubio
