The last game of the regular season is here and let’s give thanks that it’s not the final game like it’s been for so many years of this team’s existence.
The Cavs finish at home in a 1 p.m. game against the Charlotte Hornets, who are 0-3 against the Cavs and have the 4th worst record in the NBA. The Hornets can’t move out of that spot so this game is as meaningless to them as it is to the Cavs. Both teams plan to sit their starters so this will be a glorified scrimmage between the two benches.
For the Cavs it will give one more chance for guys like Ricky Rubio, Dean Wade, and Danny Green, all coming off injuries, to try and get a little sharper. All three of them could be in the playoff rotation. Green has tons of playoff experience and can make the Knicks pay if they pack the paint on defense. He’s an intriguing option, especially if Okoro is not hitting from outside or can’t play at all.
However, a team spokesman was quoted as saying Okoro could play if they needed him so I expect he will go against the Knicks.
