Wade provides help defense at the 3, but doesn’t have the athleticism to around rim to back up the center. The Cavs-Knicks game, Lamar had 2 blocks, one against Obi and the other against RJ

Again, you don’t know what you are talking about. He very good keeping guys in front of him, has length to bother the shot, is an incredible help/recover defender, is about the only player on our team who truly boxes out, and rebounds pretty well. He’s not rim protector, but neither is anyone else on our team not named Mobley or Allen

Can someone explain to me what Dean Wade did to earn back rotation minutes? A couple 3s against a legitimate G League Charlotte team the last game of the season? I just don’t get it.

Signed a 3 year 21 million dollar contract last offseason.

That’s my only guess.


Crazy part is, he kinda NEEDS to play. We don’t have much shooting or size on the wing. Not getting a 3 and D 6’ 7 or above small forward is going to kill our chances of really making a run. It’s becoming blatantly obvious that we hoped Wade would play better and take the starting role.

On the Knicks last possession Mobley stood there and let a smaller guy run past him to bat the ball back outside. That's awful "effort" any time let alone at a crucial moment in a playoff game.

and when JA boxed out .... a foul was called. That's something that should have been an emphasis during the regular season.

I really didn’t hate it.

Brunson is shifty and because he pounds the ball a lot you’re gonna see them execute late in the shot clock— however, on some of those possessions you saw Hart get the ball late.. He executed tho…

I thought Cedi did a decent job all things considered… Brunson hit some tough shots (not tough for his style however)

Like so many things JBB does. It worked for a while, then he rode it too long. Cedi got tired and Brunson got adjusted

Lack of big man depth was really apparent here, Knicks have a lot of bigs they can throw at us and wear our guys down. Allen played 43 mins, Mobley, 38, these guys were gassed. Dean probably needs to play, he can help on the glass, but if he's a zero on offense it's gonna be tough.

I have no idea why we gave Love away. And that’s not hindsight just because we lost. Iv said all year that Love would’ve been huge in this years playoffs.


There was no reason why Love couldn’t have given 15-20 minutes today.

have you seen him in Miami since he left?
I thought he might turn it around, but Miami got the same post-injury Kevin the Cavs got this season....

Turned out pretty much like we expected, right? Out-coached and out-hustled.

Our Coaching has been average all season, we’re not a great rebounding team and we don’t play with any toughness. Expecting that to change in game one of the playoffs is unrealistic. So yes we should’ve expected this effort

Love it. You start by saying it’s the coaches fault and then list a bunch of reasons why we lost that are out of the coach’s hands. Brilliant.

You're not going to fix those issues. They are there. Despite all of that, they had the lead because of what they were momentarily doing on Brunson. Expecting Cedi to stop him for multiple possessions in a row one-on-one without trapping is leaving him on an impossible island. @Los216 was pointing it out in real-time.

It’s not just rim protecting, but that is where Wade get taken to town by PF. Everyone scores over him. So what does Wade do better on defense, so ur in know?

We are 82 games into the season and JBB still doesn’t realize that in a pinch Okoro and Stevens are his PG stoppers. I mean damn, Caris Lavert probably gets 1 or 2 more stops against Brunson 1 on 1

Okoro must have been on a minute’s restriction or got banged up. That was what I was thinking for why he didn’t come in.

KLove is pretty washed but our bench is so horrible that we really could have used him. Just told him to stop us from hemorrhaging offensive boards and he could have done something. In a gritty sloppy game like this he could have made a difference
