Getting Rid of Cable- What am I missing?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So far I really enjoy Youtube TV. However, I am worried for football season. Will I have blackouts during OSU games?

Also, can I steal my dads Sunday Ticket and Redzone with a roku?

Shit's amazing isn't it? I don't think there is any comparable product on the market IMHO. YouTube TV is awesome, but.. Vue is better I think.

Why is this?

I did the 7 day trial of youtube.tv and I'm pretty impressed with it. I just called spectrum to cancel. They did not put up a fight at all when I said I was doing Youtube.tv. They offered me a local package plus 10 channels for the same net price I'll be paying so that wasn't competitive.

Taking my cable/internet/land line bill from $155 a month to $105 a month for Tv/internet, no land line but who the hell needs that anymore?

I wouldn't be worried about Ohio State games being blacked out. I assume they will just port the proper games to the right markets.

The one thing I would worried about is if they will show Browns game on foxnet since YouTube tv doesn't carry Fox 8.

I guess the work around is to have the foxsportsgo app and it will show your local NFL game if you have foxnet. I personally will just rely on my antenna as backup.

Pretty cool that you can open up the app and record while you're out. Been great for the playoffs

In Columbus we have Fox28 on YTTV so I think I'm OK.

$110 is what I pay right now for DVR cable and internet. At some point, cutting the cord isn't going to save you money if you want internet.

Yttv has been absolute garbage tonight

I get my AIRTV box in today. It will have Slingtv, Playon, OTA and Netflix.

it doesn't look like it is amazon prime friendly but I will try sideloading it.

These stations currently allow Slingtv sign on as side apps
App authentication:

  • Bravo (Airplay, Amazon Fire, Android, Apple TV, iOS, Roku, Xbox One)
  • CNBC (Airplay, Android, Apple TV, iOS)
  • E! Now (Airplay, Amazon Fire, Android Mobile and Tablet, iOS, Roku)
  • FOX NOW (Amazon TV, Android TV, iOS and XBOX 360 only)
  • FOX Sports GO (Amazon Fire, Android, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS, Kindle, Roku, Windows 10, Xbox One)
  • FXNOW (Amazon Fire Stick, Amazon TV, Android, Android TV, iOS and XBOX 360 only)
  • MSNBC Now (Airplay, iOS)
  • NBC (Airplay, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS, Roku, Xbox One)
  • NBC Universo (Airplay, Amazon Fire, Android)
  • NFL Network (Android, Apple TV, iOS, Android, PlayStation, Roku, Web, Windows, Xbox One)
  • Oxygen (Airplay, Amazon Fire, Android, iOS)
  • SyFY (Airplay, Amazon Fire, Android, Apple TV, iOS, Android, Roku, Xbox One)
  • USANow (Airplay, Amazon Fire, Android Mobile and Tablet, Apple TV, iOS, Roku, Xbox One)
  • WatchESPN

  • AMC unfortunately currently does not allow slingtv sign on.

  • currently on slingtv I have the orangeblue package

  • I haven't messed with VUE because ive been using a matricomm box that comes out of the box rooted and with a test keys signature that the VUE wont play on.

  • I got a good 2+ years of the Q2 but Sling has been messing up on it. (usa and WWE seem to work fine on it though)

  • ill set up the airplay tonight and see how the box compares to just OTA on the TV channel wise

How so? I have Youtube.tv going about 24/7, hehe. It's amazing, hands down the most stable streaming service I've used, Cloud DVR is the bomb, and all the Sports channels ya get is fantastic. Everything is now covered, plus, you get your locals too, all live feed now for them too. For $35? Amazing value. We cancelled our cable portion, bill fell from $180 to $101 a month. Add on the $35 for Youtube and it's still a hell of a savings.

Now, when I speak to performance, I'll say the most important thing you need is a 5Ghz WiFi, no one should be using 2.4Ghz for anything you need bandwidth for. Beyond that, I'm on a 500 down 50 up plan w/ WOW! So I have plenty of speed.

Think my phone company is throttling my speed. Not fun

Reset your modem and router to see if it helps. My router went bad a couple months ago. The speeds were fine if I was in the same room as the router but if it had to go thru any walls the speeds went down the drain. I had to go back to an old router while the new one was being mailed. I went from 30mbps to less than 5mbps in the upstairs of the house.

I tether my phone connection. I reset it, I change to 4g from lte, it's still fucked up. My company says they don't throttle but that can't be true. It's horseshit connectivity
