2 things I haven’t seen yet from Windler is cutting to the basket especially back door, and shooting step back 3s. Both of these traits - he was really good at Belmont. He has great BBIQ, a great rebounder, hustles, so I believe once he keeps continuing to get consistent time, he will gain more confidence. I think he will get better as the season goes on.

After Saturday's win over Boston Windler has taken the team lead in on/off. The Cavs are scoring 12.1 points per 100 possessions more with Windler on the floor than when he is on the bench and defensively they're allowing 5.2 points less. Put those numbers together and so far this season the Cavs are 17.3 points better with Windler on the court than when he's down.

Rubio is second at 11.5 and Garland third at 10.7.

Compared to other NBA "wings", Windler ranks in the 95th percentile in effective field goal percentage. That breaks down to the 79th percentile in 2-point percentage and 91st percentile in 3-point percentage.

He's also in the 93rd percentile of all wings in offensive rebounding percentage and the 94th percentile in defensive rebound percentage.

He's in the 98th percentile in assists per usage rate, which is how many assists relative to how much he handles the ball.

He still fouls too much and commits too many turnovers, but his shooting, passing, and rebounding numbers are outstanding. Part of that is because he doesn't shoot unless he's wide open, so if he ever gets more aggressive offensively those numbers will come down. But there's a lot to like and I'm looking forward to him becoming more confident and taking more shots, just like we're seeing with Mobley.

Why did this kid only get 11 min when we’re short handed? You telling me Valentine is better? I don’t get why JB doesn’t play this kid
He stinks on D and is very limited offensively. I think the problem is he’s not physically strong or confident. I doubt he sticks in the NBA. Another Stauskas.

Typically wouldn't sweat a late FRP busting but considering who got selected directly after Windler in that draft it does sting a bit.

I was really hoping he would turn out to be a Huerter type but it's not looking good esp when JBB will barely play him in a game like tonight when the team was so shorthanded.

Late first round picks are problematic.

I want someone to show me the clips of all the plays where Windler is an issue on defense.

Every time I watch him I see a dude who rotates quickly and stays infront of his man.

his big issue right now is fouling guys by being overly aggressive.

But you don't see guys blowing by him.

So someone show me. Make me a believer that Windler can't play D.

He's gotta be doing something bad in practice to where coach doesn't trust him and runs to Denzel

I think Windler's only problem is he is hesitant to pull the trigger on an outside shot unless he's wide open. His instinct is to quickly rotate the ball. JBB is using Valentine more because he's been aggressive offensively even though his results have been mixed.

If Windler ever started taking and knocking down threes at any kind of consistent clip he'd get those minutes.
