Michael Vick gets indicted for dog fighting, but since he is black, he is only arrested because he is black.

What is the deal? Anytime something happens to a black person in America, it is instantly because he is black and nothing else. There is alway an outcry for crap like this....they say racial prejudice is the reason why he is behind bars....the only people that bring up racial prejudice is black people. Everytime a black person is shot by the cops, it's because he was black.

Just like in Akron, a 16 year old kid killed himself in his car after police fired into it. No matter the kid killed himself, because he was black and the police were white, the cops killed him. Doesnt matter that forensic evidence said that he killed himself, they still cry foul. No matter the kid is 16, got pulled over because he was driving at 2 a.m. and had just left a drug house, or that he had drank so much alcohol he would have had a DUI and he was also high off ecstacy along with a loaded pistol in his car. That is a person to cry over?! Give me a break, you should be happy that piece of shit is off the streets.

I dont understand how black america always wants to cry foul or bring race into an issue when the law is involved. I can understand if it was Rodney King situation, but it's not. 99% of the time, it is not.

People like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are keeping hate alive. They build up hate and it's sad and pathetic. Like the NY councilman calling for bloodshed of white people when a Mexican, black man and a white man killed the guy in NYC....but it was whitey's fault.

Get that shit out of here...

Racism is still alive because a lot of black people won't let it go and still blame white people for everything.

It's pathetic that a group of people will stand up for a person because of the color of their skin is the only thing that matters. It doesnt matter that the person is a piece of shit, committed a crime clear as day, or is a worthless human being. Because that person shares the same skin color a certain group of people want to be opportunistic to try to make money and draw attention to themselves.

When a white person gets shot, the mentality is...he mustve done something wrong or he wouldnt have got shot. When a black person gets shot, it's because white America has an agenda against it's race although America has bent over backwords to make it so easy for their race to succeed in this day in age. Just like the group of white girls at the park a year or so ago...they got jumped by a group of black people because they wanted the park to themselves. Was it charged as a hate crime when it obviously was? No..the majority of the punks that did it, got off. Do you hear anybody crying about it? No. But had that situation been reversed...everyone of those kids families lives probably would have been over because Jesse Jackson would have sued them for every dollar they had just because of the skin color, not the crime or action.

Not all white people are the same. We didnt all come from Caucasia...that isnt a damn heritage or background. Just because we are all fair color skin doesnt mean we share the same history. Slovaks like myself didnt get here until the 1920s. We arent Italians, German, English nor French. Not all white people are the same...but we still get classified as that. Should we just assume that all black people come from Africa and act like its not divided amongst many countries? Africa is Africa right...so if you are black, you came from that one place and nothing about that place is different. Zimbabwe is the same place as South Africa right? And Kenya? Just like England is the same as Italy...

Yeah...good call NCAAP, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton....you all can kiss my ass. Try to actually do some good instead of being a leach and jumping on the slightest chance to make a dollar.

These clowns crack me up, Mac you said everything that could be said, so i wont go on and on with it, i find it how people like Sharpton are always so quick to want the judicial system to be "equal" as if its not, but when someone comes out and does something wrong, they cant go to jail because they are some prominant figure in football, get real, Vick is going to jail and all these people trying to defend him will look like idiots, but it wont matter because they will just jump on the next NYPD shooting and make a huge deal out of it.

There didnt seem to be much "innocent until proven guilty" talk amognst the NAACP when the Duke kids got in trouble, that one worked out well.

Actually, Sharpton spoke out against Vick and cruelty to animals...which is funny because all things considered, you would think Sharpton would be defending this dumbass but maybe Sharpton is smart enough not to get to close to Vick, that should speak volumes about the case.

I can't stand it either, it's ignorant. Didn't that black cop just kill the white g/f with the baby or something in Canton or somewhere? Had that been a white cop and a black girl there would be rallies..protests you name it.

It's ridiculous that we're always the bad guy in every situation...

It's only racist if the white man is on the bad end of it and I'm sick of it. I've never once said anything racist to anyone..black white orange purple and yet I still get mean looks from people because "some" white people are racist.

Imagine having White Only Award Banquets...or White Only Music Channels..or White Only College Funds...that's segregation, but it's acceptable for whatever reason..bullshit

I am Trinidadian, and I do not claim to be from Africa, I'm actually from America.
I never liked the whole "You're from Africa" bit.
It's easy to not understand when it's not your race. But Sharpton is doing nothing for the black community but hurting us. I am so sick of the same allegations when it's a black kid and a white cop. Always throw the race card. And it makes the black community look like they can't take responsibility for their own actions. Plain and simple. They will use the whole race card to get ahead.
But it's not all blacks, just the one's who lack the good common sense to move on from this... And that says ALOT about who lacks common sense... Mr Sharpton, and all those who hang onto his every hateful words.
They want us to be treated as equals, but they're the one's who can't own up to little Johnny selling crack, and place the blame on the whites.

I hate to say it, but Sharpton needs to go somewhere... maybe disappear, and maybe, just maybe, the rest of the black community will learn to face the facts.

The only crime in my eyes is if Vick doesn't get the whole 6 years.

No Sharpton believes in what he preaches, that being everyone should be treated equal...until it's one of his buddies: Then theres some BS reason why he should be excused from the law.

That reminds me... A black woman was telling my mother that Bobby Cutts (the murderer) was innocent and that the "white" girl (Jesse Davis) deserved it.

When my mother told me that, I was irate! She blamed Jesse and not Bobby Cutts, because he was black and she was white. But had Jesse been black, then, she would have said nothing.

Nicky hit it on the nose. It just makes the "black" community look worse.

This isn't the only double standard that exist in our society...just the most prominent. We also have a double standard for gender equality and sexuality.

We even have a double standard on "maturity"; specifically, you can fight for your country, kill other humans, and die for your country, but you are not old enough to drink an alcoholic beverage. How can someone justify that they have a right to dictate whether a person is mature enough by an age designation? You're not mature enough to have a beer, but, you sure understand the consequence of taking another human's life?!? How is this even plausible?

In their own sick, twisted way, everyone can justify what they are doing: a killer will justify that the victim deserved to die. Countries/religions/philosophies will say a group of people deserve to die because they don't believe what the country/religion/philosophy believes. Some will specify this same reasoning for pushing hate; they just don't go to the extreme of it...yet. Others will disguise the hate with terms like "brotherhood".

The only difference between someone like Al Sharpton and David Duke is that David Duke at least was honest about what he believed; he didn't hide behind some agenda. He was an open member of the KKK. He was a misguided ass, but at least he was open about his beliefs. The "good" Rev. Al takes the words of a true pioneer and visionary such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and twists them into pushing the same segragation that the good Dr. King wanted to end. His words and actions only hurt the cause of a unified nation. Where Dr. King gave the ultimate sacrifice for his beliefs, Rev. Al turns it into his own self-serving publicity machine.

Jesse Jackson used to be an idealist with the same beleis as Dr. King, but now he has chosen the path of Rev. Al and does more harm than good. They do more to segragate themselves than they do to unite. Case in point, a black man who educates himself and does well, outside of sports or music, is considered an Uncle Tom in his own community. The same goes for the white teen who listens to rap/r&b/hip hop; he is ostricized by both the white community for trying to merge cultures and the black community for "stealing their culture".

Then there is the gender equality issue and the sexuality issue, which are theses in their own right.

I found this funny, because Sharpton openly opposes Barack Obama.

Exactly my point. The Rev also opposed Colin Powell, who is probably one of the brightest people on the planet. But, apparently he didn't "identify with the African American community". Apparently being educated and serving in one of the most important posts in the country isn't dignified by Al and cronies.

Not the best example, but The Cosby Show from the 80s and its spinoff, A Different World (and to some extent, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air) tried to show that you could still be diversified by your culture, educated, and still get along with everyone. The whole point of those shows, aside from entertainment, was to be positive models for the black community. They weren't trying to segragate people, they were trying to get a mutual understanding going.

I consider myself an American. I am not an Irish American. I am not an Asian American. I am not an African American. I am an American, pure and simple. I am proud of my cutural heritage (Irish and English) and it helps define me, but my beliefs were born and bred on the idealogies that this country was founded on.

Speaking of Cosby, I like his take on the black community. His message to black americans is pretty spot on. In a nutshell, it's that blacks need to stop putting the blame on the world for where they are, and start looking in the mirror.

I concurr with the Cosby thoughts. I think Denise is hot, and I think Rudy was into porno or something. It's not the color of your skin but the content of your character...

This girl?

Yes I know, it's been forever since I've delivered an installment of "The Big O," but never fear, last Tuesday Opes featured a subject near and dear to all our hearts--****ed up child stars.

Oprah's guest was Jamiee Foxworth who played Judy on "Family Matters." I'm sure you, like everyone, is thinking "who?" Most people only remember the painfully obnoxious Steve Urkel, but Judy was the kid sister in the Winslow family. Her character was clearly not interesting, because they fired her and no one noticed and instead they brought in that little boy with the Lionel Ritchie Jeri-curl mullet to fill in the cute kid factor.

After being fired from "Family Matters," Foxworth found herself down and out in classic child star fashion. Her parents stole her money, she became depressed, and turned to a life of drugs and alcohol. But what made Jamie's story Oprah-worthy was that fact that she eventually turned to porn.

Jamiee Foxworth (who seems to already have a porn star name with the double "ee") really wanted to tell her story to explain why she made the choice to go into porn, and to serve as a cautionary tale for other young women.

Of course Opes was not about to let Foxworth's lame excuses fly.

Oprah: Why porn? There's lots of choices other than porn.

Foxworth: See, I didn't have anything to fall back on.

Oprah: So really this is--I'm fascinated by this because--attractive woman, you--former child star, and all that that means, and when you think about, `Gee, what will I do next?,' the next that comes into your mind is, `I'll do a porn film'? I mean, I would--you know, I'm thinking there's a world of options. McDonald's.

Foxworth: See...

Oprah: Flipping fries. You know, waitressing.

Foxworth: ...but from where I was from, I never lived a normal childhood. You know what I mean? I've always went to auditions...

Oprah: But you've heard of McDonald's?

Foxworth: I heard of McDonald's.

Oprah: Yeah.

Foxworth then goes on the describe her first experience with porn where she was completely trashed and describes herself as "surprised" and "naïve" and for some reason not expecting that when some sleaseball tells her she can make thousands of dollars in one day that it may be by doing something that her mama would not be proud of. Foxworth describes her first scene as being hardcore girl-on-girl action. Oprah then makes sure to clarify to the audience that she did not actually watch the film (uhh.. sure she didn't), and says the producers told her the details of the movie. Unlike Opes, who "claims" not to have seen the film, I have seen clips (don't ask), and I can report that Ms. Foxworth aka "Crave" didn't seem very shy to me.
