Greg Newsome II Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Super excited with this pick. When I'd mock draft, always psyched when Newsome was still available.

Those open field tackles are terrific. He accepts the challenge, or in today's world, he wants all that smoke. Him and Ward are going to wreck. Matter fact our dime/nickle formation is going to be insane.

Top 15 talent at 26, great pick.

Sort of a position of need, playing the dime and nickel so much and always being injured at corner, we need to be 4 deep with starter quality.

Yeah we can only expect the worse from Ward and Greedy from a healthy standpoint. So let's assume Ward/Greedy split a season's worth of games. It's a ++ pick. Berry for Mayor!!

Maybe he gets off his hands tomorrow and trades up for a LB.

Dont hold your breath he trades up for a LB.

If he trades up it will be for a DL or WR he really likes. LB is not a position they value enough to trade up. We will be running with allot of 1 nd 2 LB schemes. We used a 3rd last year, have 3 young linebackers and signed a productive ILB this offseason who will be on the field the most of any LB.

Just not going to be LB.

I could see us going for one of the OSU LB's on the 3rd day. They seem to check a lot of the boxes. Spending a pick on one tomorrow though? Forget about it. (not counting JOW as he's got versatility)

If a top LB falls to us in the 2nd even i can see us picking a LB...i am not saying its a position we wont draft, i just dont see us moving up.

And for my money, we make 6 or 7 picks only. So i think we will move up once or twice, and move out for future picks once or twice.

And for the record, i played LB and its my favorite position. But i understand what we are going to run and we just dont value LB.

Personally i would love to trade up and get Barmore, not sure what it takes or how far he falls, but I think he looks good on our DL.

Can we talk about the moment he says "CLEVELAND" and his family goes wild? Awesome.

Also, ignoring Talib's criticism, how incredible is it to hear analysts say things like "this roster is stacked across the board" and be talking about the Browns? Living in a dream-state, really: https://bleacherreport.com/post/cleveland-browns/ee8621f5-c0fc-4c26-9f1d-6b0d55eb724d.
Wtf did I just watch? That Connor guy in the middle looks like a total tool.

And what is Aqib Talib smoking? "At the end of the day, the team with the run game and the defense wins the chip"? Did he not just see Tampa Bay and Kansas City in the Super Bowl?

I don't really see where the value is with the guys left.

Going off Jeremiah's list of best RBs left, Nick Bolton has a RAS of 4.6 so throw him out unless he falls enough to be a steal.

Jabril Cox is a fantastic athlete but hes also 23.

I think Werner and Browning could be targets for the team as they hit a lot of the metrics, but they're definitely not going to spend a second on them, maybe a late 3rd tops.

Chazz Surratt is 24 so throw him out as a day 2 fit.

Just seems much more likely that we'll target higher value positions (DT, maybe WR, etc) before going LB.

I've had my eye on Milton Williams as a fit, and would love to have him in the 2nd.

Honestly i havnt looked at LB's left outside of JOK, but he really doesnt fit our front office.

Killing the press conference. Saying all the right things and very comfortably laying his thoughts and confidence out in a direct, cohesive, and, intelligent way. Love his mentality and outlook from what I'm hearing.
Northwestern dudes are typically pretty sharp. Some mocks have the Browns grabbing fellow Wildcat Paddy Fisher.in the 4th round.
