Guardians 2023 Mock Draft 1.0

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I still don't see him getting by Seattle.. he fits their draft profile like no other in this draft..

Chances we draft a left handed middle infielder?

That’s exactly what we need.

They have a certain profile they always draft, and so far it's been working for the most part. I hope they gamble a bit more this season though...

I disagree with your phrasing (part I put in bold)..
Gamble indicates possible great rewards and also comes with large chances of getting zip/ nothing when the gamble does not work.

I believe you are wanting to see the draft profile/ plan adjusted so the team is not taking another 16+ pitchers in this draft. I can understand that overall desire but I caution you- the draft profile is part of a larger overall talent acquisition plan. To change one part of that plan requires changes in the other parts to compensate.

Personally I doubt that CLE takes fewer than 12 pitchers (of 21 players they select) in the draft. The draft happens soon so we shall see how it unfolds.

I actually think it will be heavier in the pitching department as well. On paper our weakness is actually RP depth and right handed hitters, and power in general. RP depth though can come from converting the failed SPs over and that covers most of that. Though I wouldn't mind going for a Closer type of arm in the draft in a sense...

And what I mean by gamble is this...

We have a lot of LH hitting OF that are contact style of bats... I want us to instead of staying with plus contact guys, to draft a couple more plus power types instead. Aka if we take 8 position players, instead of all 8 being plus contact, I want to grab 2 or 3 that are plus power, especially from the right side. Now it doesn't mean that will exactly work out that way, since it's the baseball draft is BPA of who you believe you can sign, but I want to roll the dice on a couple that we haven't been targeting lately...

Though based on his ranking Im sure he'll be off the board, but having a Chase Dollander and a Chase DeLauter in the system coming up together would be sweeeeet.

As long as it isn't "Chase" Davis.. In this draft, he's the next Wil Benson...all the athleticism in the world.. and not a lot of consistent baseball ability..

Well would you look at that (in bold)..
I got something right with this draft as CLE took 12 pitcher in the 21 selections..
