Guardians 2023 Mock Draft 1.0

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@Tondo @Gson @petes999

Is there a good way to kind of do our own little mock draft aka what I did last season, where we had people pick a player that's after a certain rank on a ranking board. I kind of like the idea since it gives me an idea of who is who in a sense. It's impossible to really 100% guess who we would get, I just want to find a way to get out players names that we could possibly see...

there are five pages of national media and forum mocks, prospect listings and opinions on numerous players (over 100 are listed/commented upon).. IOW.. all your answers can be found within...

Nolan Schanuel is 1B/OF hit+power college bat that is rising fast. He was considered a comp 1st/2nd rd before but will be 1st rd now. If he's there at 23, I'd select him. A career 385 BA and 511 OBP in college and 300+ ISO. We desperately need a high profile bat like this in our system and he's the best hit/power combo bet outside the top 5 or 10 picks.

I'd go big early and then pepper the mid rounds with our typical targets...
...latest mocks are showing Schanuel not making it past the Seattle.. unless someone like Chase Davis is still there... I've seen Schanuel with the helium he's gaining as high as a top ten pick to not being drafted in the first round, altogether.. Seattle seems like a nice home for him... imho

That's not my point, I wanted a way for us to do it... aka pick the guys we would like from said lists and why we would like them etc...

I’m not a draft guy for baseball. Just too many guys to research & follow so I defer to those that put in the efforts.

That said, I struggle with the idea of CLE altering its draft model too much.
The team will draft (& likely sign most if not all) 21 players. I figure at least 12 of the picks will be pitchers since there are so few pitchers signed as part of the international process & pitcher injuries happen so often.

If someone can indicate where the volume of pitching for this talent year will come from if not this draft, I am listening.

...the lists and the picks are there along with a narrative on them..

In theory, yes, they will draft more arms because of IFA, but otoh, they have better success rates with arms, which makes keeping them worth more than cutting bats.

My answer to your question for this draft is that we currently have more overall P depth than hitting exactly because they chose to go P heavy in recent drafts.

When I went through the prospects trying to predict/fill out the full season rosters, there were many more talented P left out than hitters, who barely had excess that got pushed out of a roster spot.

With all that said, I believe they can go pretty balanced if they want.
The way I see it, the depth of this class is at college LHP, HS RHP, college 2B and CF

Nvm, I was trying to plan something interactive between all of us who want to do it, but you don't seem like you want to help at all...

The help is already there.. the lists of internal and external draft prospects are there... the internal and external mocks are there.. some up to the 21st pick.. etc.. what help?.. you have trouble reading?..

you can see what you're asking for (names of prospects.. when they may be drafted.. who drafts who.. what is it about the potential draft picks is liked..etc) It is all there..

Yet.. you've only provided vague disagreement about being disagreeable to the disagreement.. smh...

Edit.. after this... you're on your own.. just know that the mock drafts and picks already posted here.. were done to get to know who is out there.. what the prospect can/can't do.. why they are pick over others.. etc.. Whatever you think is different... good for you...

You aren't getting what I am saying at all...

I wanted to find a way for us to do some type of mock draft like the NFL mock in a sense... That way people here have to look up players and pick from them etc... I was trying to figure out a way to do this and I was trying to fish for ideas of how to do it. I get there are lists and everything like that, but I wanted to do something for us to interact and prepare for the mock draft so we have a clue ahead of time, who is who...

What are the best sites for getting info on the possible players in the draft?
