He Gave Us Something to Tacko Bout

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just popping back in:

The reality is also that if you’re an American male over 7’0 tall there’s a 25% chance of playing in the NBA.

Fall furthers that proof.
I read in that article maybe 3-4% of 7 foot American males make the NBA....honestly i am shocked its that high of a percentage, but it must be. I just remember 7 foot stiff one after another playing college ball...half for purdue...that never end in the NBA.

By Paul Lazdowski Globe Staff,March 8, 2014, 11:00 p.m. From this, he further deduced that “while the probability of, say, an American between 6-6 and 6-8 being an NBA player today stands at a mere . 07 percent, it is a staggering 17 percent for someone 7 feet or taller.

So that whole "I could do that too if I was 7 foot!" isn't that much of a stretch.

I remember our 6'5 (generous) center clowning on Kosta Koufas...at least for one play...then we lost....pretty badly.

More then likely it was an exhibit 10 deal. Which means once he's cut at end of Camp the Cleveland Charge would retain his GLeague rights. I don't see any reason he would be given a two way deal.

Tacko Fall, a source tells @clevelanddotcom, will be receiving a camp deal from #Cavs. Similar to Thon Maker last year. Fall will come to camp and compete for one of the final roster spots or a two-way contract. (Now I’m getting back to my vacation).

It's incredible. I didn't realize how rare being actually 7 ft is. Maybe 3000 in the world. By contrast there are 82,000 100 year old people just in the United States. Maybe 500 times more likely to live to 100 than grow to 7 feet.

3-4% sounds realistic, the 25% figure sounds much too high. As you say, only a minority of 7 footers who play in college seem to make it to the NBA. I met a 7 footer who played in college and Europe, I asked him if he tried for the NBA, he laughed and said being a 7 footer and being just ok at basketball wasn’t enough for the NBA any more, you had to have something special

judging from Tacko I guess that’s not true if you’re 7’6” tho...

Nyquell is 6'6, shows you how tall Tacko is.

That said, the kid is a lineman for a small school Kansas and lost a bunch of weight and is in much better shape although still a huge guy.

Good for him though losing weight.
Dude is seriously named Nyquell?

Are his brothers named Delsym and Mucinex?

Have you ever met a legit 7 footer outside a basketball context? I don’t think I ever have.

Like I’ve ran into a number of extraordinarily tall guys in my too many years, but never a seven footer. I’d guess I’ve met like a dozen guys 6’9 or 6’10 that almost prompted me to ask them how tall they are, but have never had one even claim to be 7 foot.

I remember running into Randy Johnson, the baseball pitcher, pretty early in his career. I was at a bar in Anaheim on a trip to California. I kept staring at him wondering who is this dude, I know him, and all I kept probing my mind for was NBA players Or guys who played major college basketball.

I walked out of the bar and looked over and saw Angels stadium and it immediately dawned on me. I’d guess it was like 1992 and I was like 22. He wasn’t particularly famous yet, but very shortly after, became The Big Unit and was incredibly well known. He was one of the tallest non-basketball guys I’ve ever ran into.

I'm just making sure everyone here has watched Taco play against the fat guy in high school.

Whoever chose the music is a legend. The way Nyquell walks to the beat at the 11 second mark is wonderful as is the lady in the white shirt who clearly wants to marry Nyquell.

25-ish years ago I worked with a guy who was a legit 7'3". Only problem was that he couldn't walk and dribble at the same time. Watching him move was like watching a lawn chair unfolding repeatedly.
Mark Eaton was a mechanic, before someone said, “Hey - You should play basketball!”

Awesome.

This guy is every black woman I watched in fast food immediately after some asshole complained about his/her food and stormed out before she could argue back.

“Okay okay okay. Is that what this is? Is that what this is gonna be today? Okay. Okay.”

I miss that.

The ref gives Nyquell shit back at :32 because he doesn’t know what the fuck to do either.

Who the hell would.

I have met 1 7 footer and his brother was an NBA player who was 6'10". I also know 2 6'8" guys very well. Neither of them have met someone taller than them.

I know 3 people personally who have had ALS

Crazy.

I know 2 7’ footers and had a brother who was 6’11.

I also know 3 6’9 guys very well. Both of them have taller siblings.

I know 4 people who have ALS and three who have IBS.

I’m also 3” taller than @Deezus.
