We still need an ouside shooting threat...who are they looking at to fill this need?

kyle korver, damon jones, sarunas. Lebron should have improved his three by a lot this off season

i think we should go after allen houston or michael finley if they get cut. any one know, when and if these guys get cut, the time that teams can pick them up?

We also have Luke Jackson and Sasha as well as newble that all should be better at shooting 3's next season. But i believe we should get a PG that can shoot the 3 as well and we should be fine.

i think in the chat he said that it wont be until October or somethign before they get cut so that's too far in time...

korver is ok, he cant play defense for his life all he does is shoot, so id probably rather see Sasha out there because he plays a little bit more Defense..

Luke shot pretty bad yesterday in the summer league, so who knows about him, so we definatly need some outside shooting... and I'm not too sure who at this point..

I'm sure Sarunas will be signed now. He's a nice compliment to Hughes' game.

Luke Jackson should be a solid contributer this year too. It would make no sense to spend money on Krover when Jackson will be a much more versatile player and has tons more talent. Sasha also could show much more improvement this year.
Don't get too caught up on 1 summer league game performance. Jackson will be using these games to shake the rust off his game. His shot will start falling. The rest of his game was very good yesterday.

I hope we get Sarunas and Marshall. That would give us about five good outside shooting threats(Sasha, Luke, Saras, LBJ, Marshall).

Cavs supposedly have $16 million left to spend after getting Hughes. A lot depends on what Z gets in the 1st year of his contract. Sarunas will cost at least $3 million in year 1 and might even take $5 million if recent reports of him wanting MLE level money are true.

Cavs might not have enough left over to sign a player like Marshall. There should be enough to make another decent more low level signing though.

Well, Hughes is a better fit for us than a shooter like Redd or whats his name on the Suns. I'll take a defender who scores over a shooter with bad defense. All we need is a better scoring PG, or for Drew to step it up.

I am very excited about this signing. Hughes was second on my list behind only Allen. I think he will be a great fit. Forget the percentages for a minute and just remember that this guy puts the ball in the hole. Also, remember how much JMac improved his shot over the summer (before he started pouting). If I were Hughes, I would be working on my 3 point shot all summer. He's going to get a ton of open looks.

Hmm , I'd like to pickup Damon.

We got cap room for Z and a Saraunas or Antonio Daniels at this point, and thats about it. Guys like Marshall, Vlad Rad, Korver, etc will all be getting more than veterans minimums. Its possible that cap casualties Finley or Houston will be available much later in the game, and these guys would be willing to sign up for cheap because they'll be making a buttload of money from their former teams. Also, a sign and trade might go down, but I dont see anyone on the Cavs that other teams would want.

16 million in cap space left. Z will get 8-10 million starting. So that leaves us with 8 million to work with. We need a backup big man and a PG.

Sarunas should be the #1 option for the PG. Great shot and offensive skills that will complement Hughes' defense. I think 3 mil should do. Reports say he's asking for 5 mil, but I doubt anyone will pay. Boston just offered him a 3 year 5 mil contract, pretty much the million dollar exception. What a low-ball. I see Sarunas in a Cavs uni next year for the 3 year 10 mil contract he was asking for.

For the Big man, we can play AV spot minutes at the center. Donyell Marshall should be a good pickup, as well as Cliff Robinson. Or, if we can stretch it, getting SAR would be awesome also. If Hughes' deal starts at 10 and Z's at 8, then we'll have even more space. Depends though. The least amount of space we should have after Sarunas would be 5 mil. The most we could have is 9. I guess dropping Tractor didn't really add leverage...

I'll bet Z gets more than 8 million.. We'll get a PG of some kind, but for shooting, Kareem Rush is available (40% guy).
