I've been pimping Joe Thomas and Jared Geathers a while now..

there is a mock draft somewhere that has us taking Alan Branch at number 5

I hope thats not true cause I want big Alan to stay at UM but Alan would be a deadly defensive end for us...big quick strong fast...he is the kind of guy our defense needs

but you cant go wrong with Joe Thomas either....you could slot him in at LT for the next 10 years....

Thomas...Coleman...Bently...Tucker...Schaffer....thats a major improvement in one year

Right there with you Pilot.. I'd love to have a guy like Thomas who can be a anchor for us and most important a guy to protect our QB's..

The thing I like most about this pick, is the fact that drafting offensive lineman in the 1st round, is usually one of the safest picks.. Just go back in recent years and see the lineman taken and how they've turned out..

Joe Thomas is probably one of the best tackles to come out in awhile.. He probably would of challenge D'Brickashaw Ferguson last year for the first tackle taken in the draft.. That's how good he is.

George, I'd love to get Alan Branch too.. The guy is an absolute beast and is a great run stopper.. Although I wouldn't want him as a DE in 3-4, I'd rather him be a NT.. Because Ted Washington just doesn't seem to be getting the job done anymore.

Outside of those two, I'd like to see us take a look at a QB like Brian Brohm if we choose to go that direction, Adrian Peterson if we want a RB and my favorite pick, Gaines Adams.. Willie McGinest, just like Washington, doesn't look like he has a lot of gas left in the tank..

But really, how scary for QB's, would it be to have Gaines Adams on one side and Kamerion Wimbley on the other side?

No matter what Savage does, I have total faith in him with the 1st pick..

Hope not every DE we draft is a bust. Plus we need an o-line.

There's only one guy I'd take over a O lineman...Troy Smith.

He's a leader and a proven QB.

Sure. Take a guy in the top 5 that's not projected to go in the top 25. I'm sure we'd start winning games overnight with Troy running for his life behind our OL. Sounds a lot like someone who wears #9 already. :thumbdown

I think the Browns should take Troy Smith in the first round.

Oh sh*t, sorry. Why didn't you just say so earlier? This changes everything.

ps. :whogives:

No O line is first. But Smith seems like the real deal.

Basically, I dunno. I'll go with O line. A couple of guys have been mentioned hopefully one will break through during camp.
