Re: I have a Semih!!!

Dude has mad skills. I think we call him the Turkish Terror!

Re: Semih Erden

gotta give props to the mad Turk

his stat line
7-8 FG 4-7 FT 8RB 1 ASST 1 STL 18 PTS

the stat line for his all-star opposing center -Hibbert
7-15 FG 3-3 FT 8RB 1 ASST 1 STL 17 PTS

I like his chances against Joel Anthony on Friday

Re: I have a Semih!!!

The Pacers defense was a disaster tonight. Semih deserves credit for taking advantage of the situation, but he had a lot of help from a tired and defeated Pacers squad.

Hopefully he can bring the same energy every night, as he does have some decent footwork and his touch around the basket isn't too bad.

Re: I have a Semih!!!

This may not be the beginning of Semih's domination of the league, but even without Anderson we're still going to win some games when guys step up like this and/or we catch other teams dragging.

Re: I have a Semih!!!

Alonzo Gee and I laugh at your "semi's"

-Don't gimme that "where was he last night bs either"

Re: I have a Semih!!!

It was a singular night where Semih played basketball the right way. He finished when fed the ball, rebounded ok and played some D. He even kicked out an assist. If he could manage to play this well on most nights, he will justify the Cavs optimism about him.. It is a contract year for him so has 39 games with us, if he wants a contract in Cleveland. He has until march 21 I think to capture a trade interest if he does not want to be in Cleveland.

Re: I have a Semih!!!

Semih is the perfect example of why I was never sold on this team just mailing it in if we lost guys to injury or trade. You never know how a guy is going to respond to opportunity. It says a lot about this team and it's HC that so many guys seem to be able to step up when afforded an opportunity. Is Uzoh going to be the next one now that Boobie is down? I'm not saying Semih is instant all-star, but he may just be more capable than most would have thought.

This is me voting for the "Mad Turk". Hope it sticks.

Also, calling Roy Hibbert an Allstar is like calling Mo Williams an Allstar, only instead of 4-5 deserving PG's being injured at some point, there are just 4-5 quality Centers in the league period. Both a joke, regardless.

Re: I have a Semih!!!

Semih really benefitted from having Kyrie out there with him, some plays called for him, and converting early. It helped that Hibbert was a good matchup in terms of mobility or lack thereof. Once he started scoring and getting involved he started grabbing a couple boards. He still gives up too soon on a lot of rebound opportunities, either that or I'm just used to Andy boxing guys out who have better position than him to grab a made free throw, but thats the mentality that Semih has got to play with if he wants to stick around and get some playing time.

Re: I have a Semih!!!

Semih had a few instances where he kept a rebound alive for someone else to grab, too, so the stat sheet is a little misguiding.

Re: I have a Semih!!!

When I watch Semih, I feel like he has baby sized hands. It seems like he never has complete control of the ball.
