SHEFFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio -- Indians relief pitcher Scott Sauerbeck was arrested early Tuesday in Sheffield Village, police said.
Officers said they followed a car that was being driven erratically northbound on Abby Road at about 3:45 a.m., when they noticed the passenger and driver pull into a driveway and flee on foot behind a home.
Police found Sauerbeck, 34, and Lily Miller, 28, hiding in the bushes. They were both arrested.
He was charged with obstructing official business and wrongful entrustment.
Police said Miller's blood-alcohol content was 2.53. She was charged with obstructing official business and DUI.
They were released on bond, and will appear in Avon Lake Municipal Court on June 1.
The Indians had no immediate comment on the arrest.
Sauerbeck signed with the Indians in March 2004.
He has a wife and two kids in West Bradenton, Fla.
Sauerbeck graduated high school in 1990 in Cincinnati and went to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
