Indians sign top Latin prospect for 1 million....

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
"The Great Balbino" I was hopihg for a different hispanic 3rd basemen this year..goes by the name Andy Marte..reminds me of Pujols the way he crushes pitches..oh well

What are we going to do with all the 3rd basemans we have?

I mean Marte and Kazoumanoff are both doing pretty well...

Someone is going to have to change positions...

This is what i believe indians should do for next season:

peralta should be moved to 1st cuz he is getting pretty big...

pronk will stay DH...

victor should stay at catcher and just work on his arm in the off-season...

put marte at short and see if the latin guy can play all in field postitions or other way around and use one as a util...

resign ronnie...

keep some of the young guys in the bullpin and sign alot more... that will be a big part of are offseason...

and also see if latin dude can play ss or sign a ss...

I'd think he would be better at 2nd... With Ronnie being a FA next season and likely to command a big contract, Dolan will probably let him go because of the money. Thus making a big hole at 2nd...

With Peralta lacking the arm to throw out runners at shortstop and lacking the range... It'll be better to put him at 2nd and lessen the weakness.

That's gonna be hard to do... We might as well let Shoppach catch and let Martinez go to 1st... Broussard is not the answer.

Ehhh... Marte is a good infiedler, but he isn't good enough to play shortstop... I'd leave him at 3rd.

That's going to be hard when you got someone like Dolan running the team...

I think the best thing to do is to trade both Ronnie and Wicky... Trade Wickman to a contender... Get the pieces you can while you can. Let Fernando Cabrera take over his future role as the closer, and prepare him for next season.

If Dolan commits to keeping Ronnie next year, then keep him.... But, we all know Dolan, if he doesn't want to spend the money... Then sell high and get some good prospects or an up-and-coming player.

ronnie gets a 1 year deal past couple years now and agreed to it, plus y not sign him to a 2-3 year deal anyway??? he is playing well...

johnny would be best at first... He is young with power but is showing signs of coming out of his big slump...

But yes of corse if u can trade ronnie for something better then u have to do it...

and i ment to say marte should play thrid my bad...

1B? No, maybe LF. Frankly, I'm not in a big rush to move him at all. Statistically, he is above-average at SS and there is no replacement available right now. Its easier to find a 2B than it is a SS.

victor should stay at catcher and just work on his arm in the off-season...

Its not his arm, its his footwork. I'd put him at first and backing up at catcher twice a week or so with Garko backing up first, being the 3rd catcher and giving Pronk a day off every now and then.

put marte at short and see if the latin guy can play all in field postitions or other way around and use one as a util...

No. Definately no. Marte's is a 3B, maybe a 1B if needed, not a SS. Also, Fuenmayor is 16 years old. If he progresses REALLY quickly, he might get to the GCL league next year and Lake County the year after that. You want him to step into the majors at 16, and play everyday. That's not asking much or anything...

resign ronnie...

Please, no. I disliked Belliard from the day he has signed, but he has far exceeded my highest expectations. However, he is on the wrong side of 30 and doesn't exactly have the prototypical middle infielders body. I wouldn't be surprised to see him fall apart next year or the year after, especially if he gets a bigger contract from a non-contender.

keep some of the young guys in the bullpin and sign alot more... that will be a big part of are offseason...

I really like what I've seen from some of the younger guys in the pen. I'm not sure how many vets will be needed. Carmona, Perez, Sipp, Mujica, and Brown all could have big roles in the pen next year. Add in a back-end veteran and maybe keep Betancourt, and that could be a decent bullpen.

and also see if latin dude can play ss or sign a ss...

Is this Fuenmayor you are talking about? Because no, he can't. He's a 1B/3B/LF type player who is nowhere near a middle infielder. However, the team did acquire a 2B/SS in that Perez deal, Asdrubal Cabrera. He probably won't be ready next year though, since he is only 20. I think you could see a Todd Walker-type player signed to fill in for a year or two until Cabrera can take over.

Are you suggesting Ronnie B. is fat ?

In the long run, it's better to try to buy some young dominican type kids than to spend the money on slightly above replacement level major league types.

I love ronnie, mybe one of the best def 2nd basemen in the guy, and also very good at the plate... Hell ya resign this guy...

vic can only play 1st if we get a good catcher to replace him...

I already said i ment to say put marte at 3rd not ss that was my bad, so not sure why u still talked about that...

the latin dude this artice is about man...

GUYS, DONT KNOW IF U NOTICED BUT ARE BULLPEN IS NOT VERY GOOD, there are some good young guys like i said, but better guys will be needed...

in the guy lol... o man i crack my self up, thats what u get when u post after a july 4th party... ment to say one of the best def second basemen in the game...

This is huge.
