Indians too poor for Manny

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Forget the Manny thing, it is not going to happen and never was going to happen. We stayed on the cheap to sign Dellucci and save payroll for the long term. They are looking ahead to locking up Hafner and bringing Manny aboard would have blown that idea up.

There were some Manny-to-Cleveland whispers last year at this time...I think they asked ManRam what he would think about returning to Cleveland and he said he'd love to. Then Shapiro came out with a statement that said, "We're glad Manny thinks so fondly of his days here as a member of this organization."

That's translation for "Hey, I'm a GM, not the owner. Like any other sane GM, I'd love to fix one of the biggest mistakes my successor made in letting the best right handed hitter of our time walk away for nothing and get him back. It will fire up the fan base and get this city interested in baseball again by bringing back a link from the past while he's in the prime of his career. But alas, my hands are tied. Like I said, I evaluate talent. I don't sign the checks or pay the bills. What else do you want from me???"

Send'em Cliff Lee, Franklin Guiterrez and a prospect, whatever it takes to bring him back to Cleveland.. Having the bat that he has and putting his arm in RF would be great to have.
Man, every time I watch a Red Sox game on TV and see Ramirez, I get this sick feeling in my stomach. He was OURS, God damn it. He should still be an Indian. It still pains me to death.

I have a feeling that Carlos Boozer will have that same effect on me. Hopefully the Cavs do something to cover up that mistake, bc the Tribe sure as hell didn't. Signing Juan Gonzalez for one measly year before he became a joke, and then what? We haven't had a big right-handed bat since.

Imagine Pronk and ManRam in the middle of the lineup.

The Indians will be gutter dwellers until Dolan is gone..

I don't know why the guy is an owner he really knows nothing about the game..he's cheap and he just needs to be pinched.

^^cause he makes a shit ton of money off it....thats why

there are sucessful cheap owners, Billy Beane for example can put together playoff teams year in and year out with minimal money.

I know Manny's niece very well, she is one of my best freinds. She said that the indians WONT get manny, possibly LA though...

Do you guys have any clue what Boston was asking for in return for Manny? They wanted top prospects Miller, Crowe, and Carmona. Are you kidding me? I wouldnt trade Miller straight up for Manny and the HUGE amount of money he was going to cost. Boston is asking for THE WORLD in return for Manny, and some team will give it, but I for one am very happy that we wont. The money is there for Manny, but its the money plus the prospects that is waaay too much. If no one knows who Miller or Crowe are then you need to do some research before spotting off about our cheap owner.

F Manny. He left us. He is getting older. Don't want that lazy ass with the big pay check going to him.

ha yea who wants a .320+ Average 100+ RBI's and 30+ Home Runs a year...baseball isnt like basketball, you can still be in your prime in your late 30s.

SportMcAllister it was a satirical comment..I don't want him dead..just not allowed to run another sports franchise..

Un-bunch thy panties..

He is dumb. Sucks in the outfield. He will only get older. With him we lose all of our payroll. Will then lose Hafner who is like Manny but younger. Getting him would just be a joke.

If he wants to buyout of his contract then come here for peanuts then sure :chuckles:

human beings do get old, Manny doesnt fit for the Indians, because he can become a DH once he worsens as an outfielder. you guys dont need a DH, there fore you dont need manny.

The only way he could get any worse is if he was out there in a lawn chair in front of one of these..
