CLEVELAND -- The Indians continued their midseason trading spree Wednesday by shipping first baseman Ben Broussard and cash to the Mariners for outfielder Shin-Soo Choo and a player to be named later.
The 24-year-old Choo, who's spent the majority of this year at Triple-A Tacoma, will join the Indians and be the club's starting right fielder against right-handed pitching.

Good move by the Indians... Seems like we get a good prospect in return..

This will be an even better move if we now move Victor full time to 1st..

interesting, this has to be a sign that victor gets moved to 1st.there wouldnt be any other reason we did this.sucks tho cause benny is having an awesome year.

I am hoping the same thing..

It also could mean that we might try to move Blake full time to 1st..

Who knows..

This prospect we acquired was once the top prospect in the Mariner organization.. As of last year, Baseball America, ranked him 7th..

SOO CHOO Dynasty MF'ers!

Pip you can take off the party hat now :chuckles:

A platooning first baseman for a platooning RF? And Blake is going to sit against RHP?

I hope some of these moves end up being better than they sound.

Maybe he is stocking young prospects to make a big trade for a young stud pitcher, dare I say Willis?

Ok back to reality just part of the newest rebuild with cheap players the owner is willing to pay for. With all these losses season ticket sales will suffer in the offseason time to get payroll under 40 million.

Not sure how Blake platooning at first and RF and Victor platooning at 1st and C will help our D.

Also for all the talk of moving Victor to 1st, he just an average hitting first baseman, he was a top hitting catcher. They must finally have decided he was never going to figure out how to release the ball the second base.

Dont forget Choo is hitting in the Pacific where batting stats are inflated compared to our guys in Buffalo.

Yup Choo Soo batted leadoff for Tacoma, I expect he does the same here. Maybe not immediately but it could be a move to let them move Grady into the middle of the order. Does make us faster if nothing else.

How many more Choo's will fall before the trade dead line?

May also signal Hollandsworth who did platoon as our LH OF might be gone.

Also have to wonder what this means for Frankie Gut and Garko. OF spot gone and Vic at first, dont be surprised if both are traded.

Any need for three posts in a row?

choo is killing thriple-A, batting 323. 13 homers 26 stolen bases. this guy is better then the OF propects we have now. He might even start for use next season.

Of course there was a need for three posts, the fact they were in a row was because no one else posted in between. Cant help it no one is posting about the Indians.

Choo is supposed to start now, not next year, he is coming to Cleveland not Buffalo.

Thank You, God...

A year overdue

Instead of Sun Yue, we get Choo... :chuckles:

Unfortunately, Smooth, there's just no consolation for not getting Sun Yue

Good trade... like to see the asian love in the league..
