Is anyone else excited about getting one of these ?? It has everything.... This thing comes out on the 29th, and I'm totally getting me an 8gig ...

Do you think the iphone will branch out to other companies? I think it's interesting that they decided to go with AT&T....

I know Inf wants one, but all these people who want an iphone will have to sign a new contract, pay to get out of there old one and STILL have to shell out $500 for the phone.

AT&T is going to make a killing on this.

500 is a bit steep...only 8 gigs? I'd be a lot comfier with 12 so I'll wait until the price drops after the initial 1st wave...there will likely be some serious bugs with this thing as I saw in a demonstration...

For high rollers it's like a happy meal at McD's but I can't afford one of these things...I'll wait until better providers and newer improved models are available.

I would think the iPhone will eventually be carried by other providers. It reminds me of when the Motorola Razr first came out and I believe was exclusive to Cingular for a year or so... but I'm no expert. I just think that Apple will really make a killing on these things once everyone can get their hands on one. That said, I'd consider switching to AT&T just to get one...

I would get one but I'm still under contract with Sprint and don't have Cingular obviously. I'm stuck with my PPC-6700 as of right now.

I'm planning on breaking my phone soon and getting a free phone again, hopefully the Palm 750w, other than that sprint doesnt have anything else I'm interested in, not a fan of the black berry's.

You would think but not according to wiki

In a deal concluded through secretive discussions which began in February 2005,[37] AT&T Mobility, formerly Cingular Wireless, will be the exclusive carrier of the iPhone in the United States and will remain so until 2009 or later.[38][39] The iPhone may be purchased only with a two-year service plan with AT&T.[40]

Apple remains KING. Now taking over the telephone world I think I'll scrap the money for one. It's worth it in my opinion.

I doubt the price will drop. Apple never has sales. Prices only drop if the item doesn't sell.

$600 bucks for something i drop on a regular basis and i have lost in the past is more then im willing to spend on a phone. i already got a iPod, i already got a phone so no need really to me to buy one.

I have AT&T, I've been with them for a good 4-5 years, I have no complaints, but I'm not even looking at the iphone.
Anyone who gets it, and then loses it will be pissed, even if they have insurance on it. I believe that people will go nuts over this and will try to get their hands on one even if they didn't sign with AT&T.
If you intend on getting one, make sure you keep it handcuffed to your wrist.

That's why you don't lose your phone. Then you shouldn't have problems. DUH.

You might have dropped your phone alot, but how many times have you dropped or lose your Movie Ipod? Or a digital camera? I'm guessing rarely.

A telephone isn't something everyone really takes care of, but this is more than a phone. It's a mini computer in your pocket.

You treat your belongings as good as it's price value, and it should be taken care of.

Not only have I rarely ever dropped any of my phones, ipods, blackberry, etc... but I've never lost anyone of them... However, I did have my cell phone crushed a couple years when I was helping my buddy change a tire... But I needed a new one anyways...

I'm looking forward to the iphone though...

Oh, ok, you don't lose your phone...check!

Didn't you lose your digital camera once? Oh, that's right, you did. ANd didn't you misplace your ipod once... you did.

At my job, I found a movie ipod and a digital camera....
Yes, people do have human error and misplace/get things stolen from time to time.
