I think we might be safe from Okoro being a bust. He seems to have a positive impact with his defense. He competes, he goes after loose balls. He seems to not make a ton of mistakes and even though Curry roasted him...Curry roasts everyone and that was a good lesson and he was tired.
He makes good, decisive cuts off the ball to get into the paint for layups taking advantage of all the good passers we have.
He draws contact and gets to the FT line, and seems to shoot FT's well...he's shooting 75% on the season, 81% in his last 10 games. That gives me hope that with time and dedication and just slowing down altogether he may be a decent shooter eventually. He is certainly better than 22.% from 3. I think we will see that go up soon...one good shooting game to give him some confidence may be all he needs. It seems like he turns it over more than he actually does because his turnovers often look really bad, lol. But he only turns it over 1 time a game in 30 mpg.
I think the game is still slowing down for him. I think he needs to rebuild some confidence. I think the hamstring bothered him a lot early in the season....and I think he is JUST NOW starting to really test it out in games. Once he fully trusts it, which I'd say he should be the new year, I think you will see a jump in his play. He's working really hard, that much I know.
