For all the deserved fanfare around Mitchell after last night, I still come back to believing that Allen is the most important player for this team.

Shaq said it best at halftime: he’s a true workhorse. He scored 22 points in the first half just continually making the Lakers pay for not defending the pick and roll. He takes up enough space to that missed rotations are near impossible to recover, unlike Mobley, who can still be pushed out of spots.

Then you have him on defense batting for boards and challenging LeBron fucking James at the rim.

That can all be replaced by one of the 47 Plumlee brothers...or even a Zeller. #TradeHim

But does all that outweigh the value of a stretch 4/5 or a legit small forward for this team?

The correct answer? Yes, all those things DO outweigh the value of those other things. Bottom line is we need all of the above, if we can find a way to get it.

Garland
Mitchell
Kuminga
Wade/Love
Allen

Looks pretty classic. Mobley is with the Magic most likely.

Which gets smoked by Tower City 2.0

Doesn't matter

i think Fro is pretty much a finished product offensively. All we can really expect at this point is improved ft%. i suppose he could also perfect his baby hook which has regressed this year. All in all, i love this dude. But i dont think he will ever see the all star game again.

At age 24, I see no reason his game won't improve.

I had to double check, age 24. Wow, he just doesnt seem that young, but he doesnt turn 25 till April.

I dontn see his game improving that much, maybe margianlly onn FT%, better at his hook shot, maybe a more conistant 10 foot jumper, but his game doesnt need to improve, he is a very good defensive Center.

Yeah I don’t expect him in the all-star game again any time soon, which is a big reason it was so cool to see.

They’d have to be like a 65 win team to ever get 4 guys in, and barring injury, Allen is going to be the 4th of that group to be selected from now on.

He was an all-star last season, so I will let that lack of selection slide. But there better be some Cavs big men on the All-Defensive teams this year. If not, then the award is garbage.

I am still wondering if he is healthy. Just seems a step slower than last year. He hasn't had the crazy FG percentage and touch he had last year and I wonder if it isn't something going on. He didn't seem in shape when he came in

Looked in shape tonight. Dude is just a flat out workhorse.
