JEREMIAH OWUSU-KORAMOAH

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I dont think he will be the one, you need a bigger LB for the 4-1-6....but in nickel he is great for the off ball LB, his speed in chase or cover the TE/RB mode is perfect.

He will also play the rover/safety in the 4-1-6, not the LB, but the hybrid position.

I could see it be a bit situational. If we are playing Lamar, Mahomes, Allen, Murray, (Henne), etc... you put JOK in there to eliminate the scramble, against team with a not so mobile QB it’s a bigger option.

This is unreal. Cannot wait for this fall.

I know I've posted this multiple times since January, but it's still amazing and illustrates how JOK can eventually thrive:

Last season, Owusu-Koramoah played 212 snaps in the box, 331 snaps in the slot, 88 snaps on the defensive line, 14 snaps at outside cornerback, and two snaps at free safety. Basically, his position is whateverthefuck. And he's good at it.

I stayed out of the Newsome thread mostly because I didn’t want to be a wet blanket. It just felt like JOK made too much damn sense and I was honestly a little miffed that Berry passed on him.

I vow never again to doubt His wisdom.

Can’t forget how good Clowney is at the setting the edge.

JOK also helps us deal with the elite TE’s like Kelce. We never had an answer for any good TE last year.

It’s amazing that Berry reshaped the defense in one offseason, just like he did the offensive line the year before. And he did it by being patient and making targeted, sensible moves. Joe Woods has no excuses now.

And JOK has been excellent at setting the edge himself. The angles he takes on those sweeps to dictate leverage is truly amazing.

Apparently all we have to do is have JOK live with Myles for a bit and workout together every day and he will put on 20lbs of muscle in no time.

It's crazy how much team speed we've added on defense in one off-season. We were probably the slowest back 7 in the league last year, just look at how many times slow qbs gashed us on 3rd downs.

Now look at us. JOK is probably our dime linebacker, and newsome and ward are burners on the outside. Lamar shouldn't have nearly as easy a time taking off against us next year.

I was a wet blanked about this defense before the draft because I really do not think we have one good NFL starting defensive tackle and have downgraded at EDGE.

...

But fuck that now. The Browns’ pass coverage and strength in the middle of the field is elite. Team can either test that or try to outrun a team with Chubb and Hunt. Good luck.

Look, I’m all for being excited, but why the heck did he drop this far in the draft? Are we missing something here? The heart condition rumor, if true, could be an issue..
