Jiri Traded for 2006 Second Rounder

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Terrible deal.

huh? the terrible deal was giving up a first round pick for him. Now we get a little more money to spend for a player who was gone after next year anyways. Smart move!

We needed to make a deal for a pick this year, regardless of where it was, just to fill a roster spot.

Now we have another roster spot to fill and you are talking about using that money to give it to Z and the SG..

We are digging ourselves a deep hole.

We better hit a home run with our first $25 million because our bench and depth is going to be bad..

I dont see how we couldnt get a second rounder this year for him..and in that case, it's a bad deal.

Denver drafted Jack with Miller and Boykins on their roster. Possible trade partner there. Ukic still available at 25!!!

I like this deal. The 2mil can make a big difference when we are picking up our free agents. It didnt look like Jiri was going to ever get off the bench here anyway. Plus we get a second rounder next year. We can fill the open roster spot with a vet min signee or someone for an unguaranteed contract. I would have liked seeing him get us a second rounder for this year though. Maybe he could have gotten us a pick high enough to get Ukic.

I cannot believe Roko Ukic dropped so far.

Me either. It's too bad the Cavs couldn't get into the 2nd round. Ukic dropped and so did Andray Blatche who I think has a ton of potential. Mickael Gelabale who was drafted by Seattle also sounds like an interesting player. An athletic 6-7 SF who can defend and is willing to be a role player.
We'll have to wait and see if that RealGM Orlando rumor is true.

Hey with the trade its just cutting our losses. With 28 million its possible to sign both Z and Redd to the max then have some room left over. After that, I think you can start using the exceptions?

If somehow Z, Redd, and Daniels were all signed, which is possible now with the amount of room created, added to the 7 guys that are on the roster, thats a pretty solid 10 man line-up there that only needs a big man. Hopefully

PG: AD
SG: Redd
SF: LeBron
PF: Gooden
C: Z

Bench:

Snow: backup the 1
AV: Backup the 4,5
Luke: 2,3 and shooter/scrapper type
Newble: Defensive specialist
Sasha: Ok, so we still got lots of swing guys in this scenario

I could live with that.

We still need one more big. We should have signed Tractor. :thumbdown

The big will most likely be addressed using the vet exception or MLE. I could also see us trading Sasha Pavlovic for a rookie big as a backup. Probably someone that fell past the lottery, maybe even into the 2nd round: Chris Taft, Brandon Bass

Surprisingly, Dwayne Jones did not get drafted. He was the Atlantic 10 defensive player of the year. We should definitely look into signing him up if we can.
