Our record against teams above .500 is all you should need to know about his coaching skill level.

I would have liked to see more (any) of Wade or Okoro in lieu of Max / Caris in 2OT.

But I concede it would have been hard as hell to place them. Caris played well, Garland was mostly positive, Max is pretty damn reliable, and DM is DM. I just think their fresher legs would have been beneficial.

Oh well, hindsight. Was glad Wade played over Niang in the second half.
Hey, more than one little adjustment a night is asking way way too much.

Just some food for thought here…. and I’m sure JB wouldn’t try it but in all fairness to him I think it would benefit him and the team.

First off I don’t think there’s a player on the team that doesn’t enjoy being around JB on a day to day basis. And it’s a looonnng season. But I do think any focus on rotations isn’t a JB strong point…. to be kind. It’s just not a static thing that players play how you anticipate on a nightly basis.

Bruce Weber, who I’m sure will get some laughs, had some of the same issues. He was persuaded to allow the assistant head coach to be in charge of subs and he could concentrate on coaching. Of course he always had the prerogative to overrule on any subs or put in a sub himself. Suddenly, there seemed to be a lot more subs that made sense in relation to what was happening on the floor. Just food for thought that I’m sure will never happen, but imo could be really helpful.

I try to give JBB the benefit of the doubt, but have always felt like he's able to do more with less and less with more..

When this team has been fully healthy it's seemed like a bus driver trying to drive a formula one car..
Exactly good description of JB. More with less and less with more.

It's all effort and when it gets to a chess battle between coaches, it becomes too sophisticated for JB to use his chess pieces. He locks up and goes back to what he's comfortable with and thats play hard, give effort and play defense. Thats it.

Not sure truer words have been spoken.

Take these numbers as you will:

These numbers seem to pass the eye test as well, when you see teams like Utah and Houston in the upper quadrant. Unfortunately, we ride with JBB the rest of this year. We're threading a needle of wanting to show Donovan that we can be a contender while also not wanting JBB to perform so well that we don't move on this offseason.
