We have two negatives on defense playing at the same time -- Love & Garland. We can gameplan for DG's defensive liabilities but I don't think we can do it with Love, moreso, with both players on the court at the same time. Love doesnt even raise his hands when he is under the basket.

It's six of one or half dozen of the other with our current roster and injury situation. Who was the better available option?

Mobley, Stevens, and LeVert gets you minimal spacing.

Mobley, Love, and Stevens gives you a second hole on defense, particularly on a night where the officials seem reluctant to call charges.

Lopez, Mobley, and Stevens gets you minimal spacing and another hole on defense.

No roster is perfect, and injuries to the wrong guys can certainly make weak spots seem glaring, but the current roster is missing a reliable shooter at SF and an athletic backup big man.

Lopez should be the third strong enforcer type. Isiah Mobley should be playing for the Charge this season.

Dude played a lineup for Mitchell, Caris, Okoro, Stevens and Mobley. Pretty certain they went on a 12-2 run which fucked up all momentum.

Did they just give this great motivational speaker a contract extension ?
You betcha. Crazy that we’ve gone from COTY discussions to “he ain’t it.”

In fairness, several on here have never been convinced that JBB is a long-term solution. My amateur take is that he is lacking as an X’s & O’s guy.

But he is nearing a crossroads, with the wheels loosening. I have no idea what Altman‘s threshold is for moving on…

The lack of ball and player movement on offense must be part of the coaching scheme since
we see it game after game. Add in the poor shooting from mid-range on out beyond the arc,
and defending the Cavs gets pretty easy.

this is probably nit-picking but somewhere in the first quarter a courtside mic picked up
JBB carping to the refs to not give the Cavs a foul call on a rebound because 'they are already
bigger than we are." I don't like whiners.

I vividly recall that foul and while it merely looked like a solid box-out from Okoro , like yourself I thought JBB’s comment that you referenced was strange, if not alarming .

JBB continuing to just harp on effort, effort, effort, which is what he did all last year is....just starting to ring hollow.

Come out and own YOUR mistakes, dude. Come out and say "yea, we had a game plan to shut Giannis off, they were ready for it and they exposed it and I was too slow to react." Which is what happened.

But every single time, going back to last season, he just chalks it up to bad effort.

Well listen. If the coach whose primary talent is motivating, and he's constantly saying his team is giving a poor effort, he's telling on himself.

for as much as I criticize Okoro, his abiity to box out needs to be communicated to other players.

Honestly, the only answer I see among the fans, with Wade injured, is play Stevens more, and that strikes me as serious cope.

Yes, that's why they blew the 10 point lead with 50 seconds left.

Because they had to start Lamar Stevens.

Nailed it.

Talk about cope..........
