Blatt also stood behind JR when he got suspended, never threw him under the bus for that, never accused him, always suppoerted him and mentioned how big of a loss that is.
One of my favorite things about the JR suspension was that no one in the organization threw him under the bus. Even Griffin said the team was behind him fully. I imagine players appreciate things like that.
JR is one of those "tough-guy/sensitive-dudes". Poker faced on outside, but lots of feeling lies beneath. I believe he senses a true connection to this team and, in particular, his coach. Not going on anything but a personal hunch, but I think he sees David Blatt as somewhat of a "father figure".
Agree!Jr went from being my most feared move to one of my fave Cavs. Love how sharp he has been. Still feel his flagrant deserved at most 1 game.
Hopefully he’s still on the team past this season!Fuck it, just bought a yellow JR Smith jersey. All in on Swish, only a week until the rest of the league remembers he's just as talented as Klay Thompson.
