A league source confirmed Friday that Kapono is close to signing an offer sheet with the Heat. That same source said it's highly unlikely the Bobcats would match that offer sheet, with Kareem Rush, Matt Carroll and Bogans all available to play shooting guard.

This would be a solid pickup for the Heat who have lost shooters Wesley Person and Steve Smith of late. Nice guy to sit at the end of your bench.
