I clicked on this thread simply to post this. I'll never hear the NBA on NBC theme again w/o thinking of this. Kawhi Will be killing it next year for the Clippers.

This finals is proving Leonard is better than Durant. Durant couldn't do dick even with a player like Westbrook. Leonard is about to win a title with zero superstars, or really a real all-star talent. Siakam is borderline to me.

He's the best player in the league right now and it isn't very close. He's in a tier by himself. The new LeBron, essentially.

I posted this before but Kawhi is my favorite non-Cavaliers player. Very efficient, phenomenal offensive player, and he can play defense. Such a great team player and he is fun to watch and makes the team very team-basketball-oriented. Guards the best player, does not complain on the court, and plays hard to win.

One thing to add about Kawhi - you can see how humble he is during his post-interviews. He does not care about stats, does not brag, just pure humble. Wish more players can be like him.

If Toronto wins it all which looks likely, I hope Kawhi stays in Toronto at least for another year. It's a big diverse city. I get the LA connection but he's still young enough to get out to LA eventually. They'll love you in Toronto far more than in LA. If they can add another piece next year, maybe an upgrade from Danny Green, they could compete well next year too.
idk though, I don't like cold weather either and it's cold up there a lot, more so than Cleveland even.

Would the warriors have even made the finals the year zaza attacked?
Yes. Honestly, Dubs would've lost Game 1 and one other in that series and that's it.

That was a much stronger Dubs team than this one, and a lesser Kawhi; also, the Spurs system didn't reallly fit him as well.

I was a skeptic because the Spurs team last year made the West playoffs, and won 1 game against GS, with almost no contribution from him, but the Raptors' improvement this year has changed my mind...

No denying the Spurs have a great coach and system. I thought he was a LITTLE beneficial of the Spurs system.

But I was wrong too. I wasn't trying to hate or anything. We know the Spurs are a top notch organization that can get more out of players like no other.

I do think though the Spurs being able to develop players so well contribute SOME to Leonard being this great today. I'm not suggesting if he were drafted here, or elsewhere he wouldn't be a superstar. But when he came into the league, he was raw in specific areas of his game.

I think Kawhi deserves 75% credit and the Spurs deserve 25% doing a great job at developing and maximizing his skills.
