My uneducated guess, no sources or anything to back this up..

Love tore something, will need surgery regardless. Playing through it will most likely be super painful, super dangerous, and likely render him ineffective.

Think we shut him down for the rest of the season, do the best we can, and take another shot next year with the team together an entire yet from start-to-finish.

Ehhh I interpreted that as bad news folks...usually 2nd opinion is when you don't like what the first doc told you..

Especially because Love was adamant in his post-game interview about returning for the playoffs, seems pretty clear he wanted to make a run this year and if he got cleared would prob jump all over it.

I wish I didn't agree with you, but I do. Of course, it's all just tea leaves at this point, so it's all just meaningless speculation.

The one thing we do know is that they haven't yet come out with the "day to day" claim. Not a good sign.

Um IMO a second opinion is decent news because if it was torn it would be torn... So it might be about playing through ? Kinda like Aldridge earlier

I'm surprised more people didn't pick up on this.

It's still a theory, but this is immediately what I thought.

I oriented my ass in the direction of Boston this morning, when I dropped a deuce. That took some doing, given the orientation of the seats in the second floor stalls in my building. I basically had to stand on the tank.

Conveniently, due to my particular coordinates, when I oriented my ass toward Boston this morning, it was also oriented toward Bristol, Connecticut, and all the douchebags on a certain broadcasting campus there.

I'm reading this as potentially good news...no need for a second opinion if the MRI showed a tear...without a tear, there would be multiple rehab options, thus the second opinion.

I agree. If the prognosis was bad, we'd know it. I'm thinking he was told there is no damage and he's attempting to confirm.
Cant blame a guy for doing his due diligence.

Love can't be traded since he is a free agent. But the rest of the post is true. Should sign Jeremy Lin with the MLE to back up Kyrie and then use Haywood's contract to trade for a back up SF.
jeremy lin isnt good enough we need players like matthews. QUALITY

In this case, a second opinion is not necessarily good or bad news. He may have been told he cannot play for a certain period of time and then was advised of the benefits and risks of playing versus not playing at various potential points for return. For a player set to make max money for the long-term either here or elsewhere, if I was him I would want as much information as possible to make a decision.

Next season we gotta do a better job of getting QUALITY role players. Not has beens like marion, miller and jones. Trade love if you have to. Our lack of depth is really killing us.
Huge potential hole created by an injury to Kevin love

Need to make sure we don't face the same potential problem next year

Solution: trade kevin love

:chuckle:

It may need surgery regardless, but something like this could wait.

Chances are, IMO, that if he did need surgery - and even if he were to do more damage while playing in the next few series - the off-season would be plenty of time to get it back 100%.

What about a sign-and-trade?
