I know that we need Love to play well in the playoffs to win a championship, but its funny to read through the last few pages, because you get the impression that he didn't play a major role in our success over the past 43 games or that he had a bad year.
He did have a down statistical year from his previous standards, but a large part of that is due to taking 6 less shots per game than last year.
He still shot .367 from 3P which is great for a PF/Stretch 4.
He also had to make the biggest role adjustment.
LeBron had to adjust to new teammates but essentially is the same straw that stirs the drink and alpha leader/player that he was in Miami and always has.
Kyrie had to adjust to new teammates and controlling the ball a little bit less, but basically still controls where the ball goes a lot of the time and took one less shot per game than last year. grew in so many other areas though. So excited about his career.
Love had to adjust to new teammates and from going to being the number one option in terms of shots and in terms of how the offense flowed to basically being the 3rd star and adjusting to a much different role on the floor than in Minny. Couple that with the injuries and it was a tough year at times for him. I'd be shocked if year two doesn't result in higher overall FG%, better efficiency, and more diversity in how he's used in the offense.
Anyways, we're lucky to have all three of these guys for a long time.
