I didn't think it looked intentional from the obscure angle they keep showing it at, but this shows it clearly at :21. :shakehead:

Here's his apology:

"He was kind of right there, and you know, I've got size-19 feet. So he just happened to be there, I had nowhere to go. I got kind of tripped up, and I just had nowhere to step. He was right there, it happened to be his face just like in Houston where it happened to be my groin."

The kicker is, from the original angle (combined w/ Love's generally good rep), everyone's going to buy that! Looks like he stepped past his head, or on his hair, or only partially on his face in the original:

He's actually had some pretty chippy plays in games before this such as Indiana the other night and his comments after that game were questionable too. I have to say I'm starting to lose some respect for the guy.

See...I'm starting to like him more.

I'm more of a Charles Oakley guy myself.

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean though. Oakley was more face to face than cheap shots, but he took his fair share. As did Laimbeer and most of the other Pistons. Bird took his fair share of shots at guys too.

The league is so pussified now, that it's nice to see some of the old school guys throwing old school bows. I guarantee if the league got more physical that more fans would like it than not.

If I had my way I'd allow about 65% of the fouls called in today's game.

We'd have some chippy competition at that point, no doubt about it.

Charles Oakley wouldn't kick a gut lying on the ground in his face, I suspect.

There's nothing to like or respect about such a cowardly, sneaky attempt to intentionally hurt someone's head. If Love would have gone at him face to face, I maybe would have respected this somewhat. I hope he gest a sizeable suspension.

I just wish there were more fans storming the court for these moments:

Sliding punches are made for video games people. Show me one sliding punch that has EVER been thrown with video evidence. The end.

Oh, I get that for sure. My assumption though is that Scola was taking cheap-shots at him all game or in the past. I'm also not saying I would do that kind of thing when I'm playing sports or that I'd teach a kid to do it.

I'm just saying I like that its going to give Scola and the Rockets reason to go hard on him in the future. I like seeing evidence that these guys don't like each other and want to win more than they want to be best buddies (LeBron)

I'd rather see a cheap-shot than a hand-shake after a push is all I'm saying.

These AAU mentalities are soft Euro basketball are ruining the intense, hard-fought basketball of the 80s and 90s.

For the record, Oakley took cheap shots.

That's why I like guys like Kendrick Perkins, early career Artest and other guys that are just mean as hell.

Artest is the Rodman of today. I don't think they were mean, I just think they are unstable. You don't change your name to World Peace because you think you are Ghandi. You change your name to World Peace because you are bat shit crazy and feel guilty for not being locked up.

Rodman would butt heads with a ref (literally) and then run off the court. He also kicked a camera man for no apparent reason.

Oakley/Kemp would celebrate a clutch play in your face. This should be allowed on all levels. I hold a lot of contempt for today's game.

Sometimes I forget about just how awesome Larry Johnson was.

See, that guy was cutting, and he hit Love on an angle. That wasn't an intentional nut shot. The stump was probably intentional, and I enjoyed it.
