i thought kevin love took the benching fine right up to the point that altman signed danny green. at that point there is a possiblity that an emotional love lost all faith because he pretty much knew that altman went full retard in giving 2mm to a 36 year old with over 150 playoff games and just 8 months removed from an acl and that his minutes were done.
You have confused these events. They did not occur in this order.

im pretty sure that love was so peeved after the 76ers game.... in all likelihood that acl green was getting minutes..... that kevin didnt even travel back to cleveland with the team. JA said that Love went out for cigarretes or ice cream and never came back.

imo, it was the green signing that did it.....and it was altman that signed danny green just the same as it was altman that bought out loves conract for almost the full amount.

so unless jbb put a gun to almans head both failures....the 2mm to green and the 8mm to love....are altmans fault and not jbb.

Wait, you think the Danny Green signing precipitated the Kevin Love buyout?

Kevin Love told the Cavs he wanted to stick around before the trade deadline.

Kevin Love told the Cavs he wanted bought out after the trade deadline.

You can try to blame that on Danny Green OR you can take Kevin Love's personality into account and realize that Kevin Love was looking out for Kevin Love. He wanted to control what team he played for, and did so masterfully. If you want to blame Koby for getting played by Love, that's a fair critique. However, the blame still remains on Kevin Love and all of the revisionist history version of how his end in Cleveland went down isn't going to change things.

and why wouldnt kevin love look out for kevin love?

contract year.

for all we know jbb told love to hang tight, we need to give wade some time and your injured, well bring you back when and if your healthy. as i said before it was not jbb that signed a 36 year old 14 year guy with 150+ playoof games coming off an acl just eight months prior for 2mm. that was none other than altman, the same altman that paid love 8mm to walk....for free....when he couldve used that salary to trade for a player(s)

i posted a guys breakdown from the realgm forum of all altmans failures since last year....can someone here post all almans success from the last year?

because im assuming that over half the forum here are going to chalk up the mitchell trade as another failure.

looks to me like kevin love was holding to his word right up until altman signed danny green.

unless you think it was a coincedence that Love just so happened to be on the bench for the three games post deadline without asking for the buyout and immediately after green was getting mimnutes in the philly game

ffs...from what allen says....love didnt even make it to the team bus, didnt even sleep in the same hotel before leaving altman and the team for good.

I don't know what else to tell you and feel I'm wasting my time anyways since you have your mind made up. Love got his wish. This is the only way I know how to say it. Spin that however you want.

how is it a ¨spin¨ when what i am putting up are facts?

the fact is that love asked for the buyout after not doing so for three games after the deadline passed and hours after the newly-signed green took his minutes in the philly game.

You say there was cause and effect but I'm really struggling to understand why signing DG would piss off Love. It's not like they play the same position.

I would also love to hear your trade proposals for Kevin Love at the deadline.

Love and Cedi for Luka. We should've taken this

If Love got pissed with Danny Green being signed, my guess is that Koby and/or JBB basically told Love that the reason he wasn't going to get playing time is because they wanted to give those minutes to younger guys. Maybe the message that they were putting out with Green conflicted with that or Love heard specifically from Green what Koby and/or JBB was telling him. Green could have been told he had a path to playing time when he got healthy while Love was being told the opposite.

I mean sure you can hypothesize ifs and maybes...but it's a lot of ifs and maybes to be absolutely certain that the reason Love left was because of the DG signing.

If that actually happened then yeah JBB is absolutely a moron. I am absolutely massively critical of JBB and I want him gone but I can't imagine him doing that.

i said it here before the deadline.....they needed to take a chance on gordon hayward and pj washington for love and cedi. and if you could not get pj surely you couldve gotten a 1st round pick...ez... while eating next years haywards contract which i belived to be worth 15mm if gordon couldve played 20min/game and been healthy the entire year. gordon supposedly had a shoulder injury during the first half of the year...or so he claims.... which couldve affected his 3 point shooting in december

fwiw the cavs were +800 before the deadline to win the east.....after love was bought out...within literally days...they were +1400 and every bit that, imo.

RE love being pissed they both dont have to play the 4...its called small ball.

I think both Koby and JBB are bad at getting their point across to players and defusing a situation. There is a pretty good track record with that. I don't think we will ever know what happen with Love but I don't put it pass Koby and JBB that they screwed up in some fashion.
