Koby trolling at this point. Dudes really bringing Diop in for the introductory presser when he's never gonna play in the NBA.

Koby is grooming him so they can potentially bring him over in the future. I think they did the same with Cedi. Try to get him excited about potentially coming over to the NBA in a year or two so that he will take a lower contract to play in the NBA vs getting paid better to stay in Europe.

Apparently Diop was actually the 32nd ranked prospect on ESPN. Maybe I wrote him off to soon. He could be a backup for Allen in a year or two. I wonder if him and the Aussie play in the Summer League. I know draft and stashes sometimes play but not always.

I’m curious how many draft & stashes ever actually come over to the NBA? It has to be much less than 25% of 2nd rounders. Off the top of my head I can think of Ejike Ugboaja and Milan Macvan, as former Cav 2nd rounders who never came over. So it feels like we wasted two picks this year.

Right I think they don't know how to scout SFs. I do think it's much harder to find a SF than a guard or a big. We need to take swings to find one or two and not be worried about some busting especially if we are using 2nd round picks.

I'm worried when they finally realize how big of a hole they have left in the roster it will be too late. This might have been the chance to find one with #14 and they just weren't aggressive enough.
Unfortunately, I think you’re right. The Cavs were gifted LeBron James, but they don’t seem to realize how hard it is to land a good SF nor do they have the patience to develop one. So, they’re left constantly trying to plug that spot with pieces that don’t really fit.

Koby did alot of international scouting for the Cavs at one point. Cedi was his pick, even if it was during when Griff was GM. Griff basically said Koby put it all together even the trade down to get Cedi with the #31 pick so they could sign him outside of the rookie scale in the future.

I think Koby might understand the profile of players that they can attract to come over. Cedi really wanted to come over to the NBA and left money on the table to do so. If it's part of a players dream to come and play in the NBA while that prospect likes American culture, I think there is a good chance to bring them over. Koby might have something deeper he looks for but that's what I assume they look for.

I thought last offseason was the turning point where it open the eyes of the organization of how hard it is to trade or even find a decent SF in free agency. I thought they would really attack this draft to get a SF prospects because they were shut out last off season and the draft seem like the logical avenue to find SFs. I guess I was wrong.

Yeah, it seems to happen every year now where they miss out on a SF and are unwilling or unable to adapt after that.

The selection and Koby's follow-up comments tell you all you need to know about his and Gilbert's mindset....making the playoff in the short term.

Hard to fathom passing on so many wings, when it's what we obviously need.. This screams that our plan is to buy our three..

Will be interesting to see if they can turn Love, Sexton and Levert into that guy..

I just don't see where we play Mobley 2.0 and Khalifa Diop.. Must be some 3d level chess going on..

How the heck do we get the Memphis Grizzlies GM? should have done that before the fucking draft.

Dan, time to step up and throw the kitchen sink at him. idiomically. and the real kitchen sink at Koby Fuckman.

I'm not even pissed as much as I sound. I got much worse things to deal with... i'm just dumbfounded and disappointed.

Here to predict this guy is a stud so I can share this post along with those of a bunch of you pants-shitters during the playoffs next year.

I like to picture you guys all in one big room crapping your pants, removing the pants and then changing into one another’s shitty pants in a loop.

Meanwhile I’m over here only crapping in my own pants, just barely and only when I eAt really hot stuff.
