Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

Its a real shame when LeBron struggles with his shot he only had Ilgauskas fighting with him.

Starters pulled.

In a game where Hughes and LeBron couldn't find regular hoops they still managed almost 90 minutes between them.

Ilgauskas the Cavs best tonight. Defended quite well and gave us a shot into the 4th.

Lets cross our fingers that the injury to Ilgauskas is only minor. He was a rock tonight, and our frontcourt crumbled when he sat.

Most teams suck on west road trips, easy as that. They were on 3 days rest, we were playing back to back.

We got our asses kicked tonite. We must win at Sacto. The Cavaliers are still a poor road team.......... :thumbdown

These past 2 loses really hurt a lot as it exposes our continued woes on the road. Hope the boys can pull this last one out.

Z played tough ..that was what stood out. Pretty much the rest went to script. Lebron and Jones gave little effort outside of trying to get their offensive numbers ..whoever they guarded went off ...help defense was maybe a little better but describing it as erratic could be construed as improvement I guess ...

We're playing bad basketball ...our defense is slowly becoming a cancer that is eating away at the team. The core of the problems last year that eventually lead to our demise was JMac and Lebron's lack of effort, and this year.,.if not addressed will be Lebron and Jones not giving adequate effort defensively.

Mike Brown stresses defense at every turn, and knows how to teach it. But, a problem exists when your best player and leader on the court refuses to exude effort and desire to play it. The other players inevitably will follow his lead ......if Lebron would finally get it, and start developing a consistent work ethic on the defensive end, it would rub off and this team would turn the corner. But, if that doesn't happen, this team will never turn the corner and reach their potential .,.,which is quite high this year.

The question is, what will it take to get it through Lebron's head that he must start playing consistently hard on the defensive end ? A benching ? Could the CHOSEN ONE be set as an example by a rookie coach ? Don't think so ...Larry Brown could get away with that, but not Mike Brown .....somehow, someway ...Lebron's gotta get it ....he holds the key ...

defense was woeful, how do we let teams light up from outside...where is the pressure...its ok when our O is doing well but when we shoot it poorly, out bad d is clear to see and it hurts us...hmm

I'm pretty disgusted with this team right now. The Cavs were never in this game from the opening tip.
The expectations were high for this team but in the last week they don't look much different from the 15 win team from a few years ago.

I completely agree with Wine and Gold about LeBron's defense. As the team leader and focal point of this team he has to pick it up. There's no excuse for the lack of effort defensively that he shows every game. It's up to Mike Brown to challenge him. Not sure if it will happen since it appears the whole Cavs organization is so afraid of losing LeBron that they won't risk upsetting him getting on him about his effort on D.

The same problems that bothered me last year about the heavy minutes by certain players are back again this year. I think it has to be a factor in the less than great play from LeBron and Hughes last night. LeBron's numbers look good but he only played one end of the floor and shot poorly. Hughes might of had his worst game as a Cav. You can't continue to play these guys 45 minutes a night without their play or effort suffering or risking injury either this season or in the long run.

Mike Brown is looking like a rookie coach now. They appear not to have any type of solid offensive system, the D continues to suck and his player roatations are questionable.
It's still very early in the season and I don't want to panic yet but I'm not crazy about what I see from this team. They look like nothing more than a 1st round playoff loser.
