Cavaliers Note's

*The Cavaliers escaped Wednesday nights matchup against the much improved Clippers in an overtime victory 112-105 despite a strong effort from Elton Brand.

*Can the Cavaliers handle the Clippers on the road? They had them at home and nearly lost so how will the adversity effect their game? Will LeBron attack the basket early or settle for deep jumpers?

*Can Gooden come back after a poor outing and contain Elton Brand? Or will he score in the high 30's again getting whatever he wants when he wants and wreaking havoc in the post.

*Will Marshall and Jones maintain their stroke on the road enough to provide a spark off the bench or will they revert back to their shooting woes?

*Will Z have another big game against the overmatched Chris Kaman or will they possibly try to swing Brand over to him and try to get more physical? Getting Z off to a good start is key for a Cavalier victory.

CDT Prediction:

Cavaliers defense will struggle to contain Maggette Brand and Cassell and they will cause problems offensively for the Cavaliers all night.

LeBron will have a decent game but settle for too many perimeter jumpshots, it will not be enough for the Cavaliers to pull out the victory against the tough Clippers on their home floor.

Elton Brand will get Z in early foul trouble forcing him to sit and they will build and maintain a 10+ point lead for much of the first half.

Cavaliers lose to the Clippers on their court by a final score of 103-90. Brand and Maggette are too much and the Cavaliers need to find a way to win the tough games on the road. Panicking and settling for deep jumpers doesn't get the job done. Strong defense and penetration are what we need.

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

Yeah its gonna be tough to win this one, but i must believe the Cavs can pull it out. Yeah our players may be tired. Yeah the Clips owe us one. Yeah the crowd will be against us. Yeah Yeah Yeah. Time for the Cavaliers to dig deep, and muster up an inner fire! Time to get MEAN!!!!!

Times like these, we should listen to the Outlaw Josey Wales

Now remember, when things look bad and it looks like youre not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. Cause if you lose your head and give up, you neither live nor win. Thats just the way it is.

Cavs still need a killer instinct on the road........

cavs 100 clips 99 :king:

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

To me it seems like the Cavs are 2 different teams home vs away. They look great at home, yet on the road they cant seem to exert their will, cant execute as well, get sucked into the pace of the home team, dont have the same energy level. With the exception of @Toronto, theyve fallen behind in every road game. I dont think this is an x/o problem, i think its more of a psychological/mindset thing. What you do (plays run/stats) is just as important as HOW you do it (intangibles/hustle/energy/confidence) Just how i see things.

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

The Clippers will adjust to what Ilgauskas did to their last meeting. We must also do the same with Brand who dominated for the most part. Getting the ball inside is still the key for us tonight. We at least need to match them on the boards, and as ever limit turnovers as they can run quite well.

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

Almost game time. I really cant see a win with James and Hughes backing up from too many minutes, with Cassell, Brand and Maggette ready to run rings around us again. Only this time I think Mobley may join the parade.

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

Brand knocking down long jumpers makes for a long night.

Hughes though matches.

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

Mobley is an ex factor. He is highly erratic, but if he finds his groove tonight look out.

Brand and 1!

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

What an ugly start. Already an obvious energy level differential.

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

Nice work by Drew. Gets to the line. We just have to work our buts off and get into the paint.

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

Brand is such a mismatch. The Clips work so well off the ball when Brands has possession. Something we refuse to do with Z.

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

This is out of hand. Shots refusing to drop for everybody.

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

...well...about the worst start of the season.

Re: Cavaliers @ Clippers

Down 12. Will Brown mix things up with some fresh legs all will he continue his closed book rotations.
