Cavaliers Note's
*The Cavaliers escaped Wednesday nights matchup against the much improved Clippers in an overtime victory 112-105 despite a strong effort from Elton Brand.
*Can the Cavaliers handle the Clippers on the road? They had them at home and nearly lost so how will the adversity effect their game? Will LeBron attack the basket early or settle for deep jumpers?
*Can Gooden come back after a poor outing and contain Elton Brand? Or will he score in the high 30's again getting whatever he wants when he wants and wreaking havoc in the post.
*Will Marshall and Jones maintain their stroke on the road enough to provide a spark off the bench or will they revert back to their shooting woes?
*Will Z have another big game against the overmatched Chris Kaman or will they possibly try to swing Brand over to him and try to get more physical? Getting Z off to a good start is key for a Cavalier victory.
CDT Prediction:
Cavaliers defense will struggle to contain Maggette Brand and Cassell and they will cause problems offensively for the Cavaliers all night.
LeBron will have a decent game but settle for too many perimeter jumpshots, it will not be enough for the Cavaliers to pull out the victory against the tough Clippers on their home floor.
Elton Brand will get Z in early foul trouble forcing him to sit and they will build and maintain a 10+ point lead for much of the first half.
Cavaliers lose to the Clippers on their court by a final score of 103-90. Brand and Maggette are too much and the Cavaliers need to find a way to win the tough games on the road. Panicking and settling for deep jumpers doesn't get the job done. Strong defense and penetration are what we need.
