I don't see anything to not like for what he is. Would be happy to sign him to a real contract.

Plays hard, above average individual defense, can shoot/create his own shot in the mid range, is a pretty solid athlete by NBA standards, and his 3 pointer has potential.

He also apparently wrote a children's book, so there's that.

He should get most of Cedis minutes until proven otherwise.

Spend the offseason shooting corner 3's and could have an NBA career.
JBB agrees.

Lamar I think is an elite NBA defender…He has an identifiable game that sometimes we overlook because we go with the potential of a one-and-done. But Lamar has been tested. To be the guy to carry a team in the Big 10 says a lot. It matures you. He knows exactly who he is. He wants to help in any way possible. He’s tough. He plays with a chip on his shoulder that helps us, that lifts us and gives our spirit a boost.

He’s a consistent spot-up 3-ball away. - J.B. Bickerstaff

Cut Okoro
As a poster who tends toward longer posts, I appreciate your brevity.

But I think it's a fair question - what's the difference between Stevens and Okoro other than age (three years), college experience (three years) and where they were drafted (or not drafted, in Stevens' case)? Stevens puts up more points and rebounds per minute than Okoro and JBB says he is an "elite NBA defender".

I'm wondering if after observing Stevens' three monster dunks last night Okoro might start thinking he ought to try some of that. He did have a nice drive last night where he took contact at the rim and still converted the 3-point play.

aside from the big "potential", okoro currently has better 3 pt percentage than stevens. 28.9 vs 12.5 to be exact.

with 3 pt shooting being a swing skill, having a 19 yr old rook shooting more than 2x as accurate as a 3 year college player makes that 19 yr old a 5th pick.

He is a younger version of Blossomgame, if he develops a consistent corner 3, he'll be a much better version of Blossomgame.

not sure we have to pick one or the other. Stevens is simply older and has years of college experience at a high level. Okoro does not.
Okoro will improve as he gets stronger and hopefully gets into his proper position. If Stevens improves his 3 pt shot we could have quite the steal on a undrafted free agent. Good pick up by Koby. Stevens also seems to fit the culture of hard work that sexton, okoro exude

I'd say keep them both!
