Evan Mobley is consistently compared to Bosh.
Lauri Markkanen is the Finnish Bargnani.
Kevin Pangos got some Jose Calderon to his game.

What his overall plan is? I have no idea.

I think it's self preservation over trying to build out the team. I think he has leaned on where he is most comfortable with his scouting which seems like guards and bigs. He will point to draft success over team success to try to keep his job. He will keep preaching patience and hope he doesn't make a bad move to end his tenure.

There are now some trade rumors that Cavs really want Ben Simmons and Lauri could be one piece they are giving away. Let's hope these are just rumors, otherwise all the talk that Cavs really wanted Lauri and he as well really wanted to join Cleveland were just some nice words for the media and I was the stupid one to quote them as total truth

You are correct that Markkanen doesn't really talk to media that much and usually the interesting stuff he tells to Finnish media (Such as his role under Boylen, wanting to leave Bulls and that many teams were interested in him for example). He's not so active on social media either and really feels that he doesn't like any attention and is not so comfortable in public appearances. Nothing in his personal life is also not very flashy or that interesting either. Lauri has been together with his now wife Verna since the high school days. They are both from the City of Jyväskylä which is 7th biggest city in Finland. They have two kids and they just want to live "normal" family life. There was this Finnish tv show where the host went to visit Markkanen's family and spent weekend with them and she was blown away how normal Lauri and his wife are despite living in skyscraper in Chicago (at the time) and being NBA (star) player. He is just a true athlete that spends the free time with his family and also Lauri loves to play disc golf a lot (when he has time).

And yes I totally understand that if he doesn't deliver, there are some harsh words on him. I'm as critical as you are. This man is getting millions to play the game and if the role is right now, he's got all the pressure to succeed. the ball is Lauri's hand.

Would be interesting to see how all the big men in Cavs will line up. Allen could be great fit with Lauri, Mobley is a true talent and he also need lots of minutes, there's still Kevin Love in the team... Lauri said he wants to be a starter in this league and he's looking for a team where he is valued as a starter. I'm not so sure either about the SF position for Lauri, but we'll see I guess.

I mean it's not impossible. But rumor is Simmons will likely be dealt before training camp and Lauri can't even be traded again until December 15th. Odds of him being included in a Ben Simmons deal seem unlikely. And since he fits perfectly with Ben Simmons as they cover each other's weaknesses it would be foolish to trade one of the players who actually fits next to Simmons for Simmons.

Only including Sexton if I don't think I can keep him in RFA without paying more than I think he is worth now, especially for another non shooter added to Okoro Mobley Allen. One of the 3 and a highly protected 1st are far more reasonable exits and the only way they should even consider trading for a a very temperamental person with an inflated view of their own talent or importance. Well it's definately Sweden we really love to hate! They are a bit bigger and better in almost everything, also the people there are more beautiful and confident and we can't stand it haha! But yea with Russia there was the war with them during WW2 (soviet union of course back then) and some wounds are still so open that many truly hate Russia for that, but it's super complicated so nobody doesn't want too much attention on that. Russia is also so huge and distant country that sometimes we dont even realize that its our neighbour. Finland always looks to the west and we compare everything to other scandinavian countries sweden, denmark & norway. There is a saying in Finland that Finnish person will gladly pay 100€ if his neighbour loses that same amount of money dark humor, but it has some truth in it also.

Yea good that Markkanen is not on the trade. I haven't been so active earlier following the trade rumors until now when this Markkanen case started but OMG I cant believe the amount of rumors there is. Like million tweets, Youtubers making new videos every day about certain rumors.. I think currently in youtube there is more videos with "how Markkanen will fit in Dallas roster" than his highlights
