First off, let me knock on some wood.

:knock knock:

Ok, finished.

I am pretty sure that we all know that LeBron has a soft ankle. He seems to be twisting it every other week and scares us all whenever he starts to hop around.

This started his rookie season in Utah when he landed wrong after attempting a drive, he missed a good amount of games afterwards.

This season, LeBron twists his ankle again. I forget what game it was, but I know that he missed over a week of ball because of it.

Now the question for the question.

It's been two years already that LeBron came into the league. Both seasons he has missed time due to ankle injury. Do any of you think sometimes that his ankle may cost him a season at any point of his career? I mean, a bad ankle injury is no joke. Take a look at Grant Hill, he has almost 2 entire seasons because of his ankle injury.

I don't want to frighten anyone, but I would like to justify that it could very well happen.

thanks for that :thumbdown

It's a possibility, but I'm not too worried about it. His ankle injuries have never been serious enough to miss more than a few games. And sometimes he was able to play through them because they weren't that bad. Then again, this is Cleveland and with our luck I wouldnt be completely shocked if it happened. We'll just have to cross our fingers that it doesn't happen I guess.

I highly doubt it, but if he ever does have a problem, it will problem be a waste of a total of 1 year time in his carreer... I dont think it should be something we should be worried about... atleast for the next 3-5 years ;)

He just needs a new pair of reboks!

If James doesn't have to get surgeries like Nowitzki, then we can hope James can make it through these minor injuries. But you have a good point about his ankles. Let's hope he gets his ankles taped up tighter next season and he wears more high-top shoes (and not his usual mid-tops).

he reminds me of terrel brandon. after he left cleveland he was getting caried of the court every other week.

if you look at how he twisted it you shouldnt be scared. anyone else in his position would have gotten a sprain as well. his foot was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

dont forget he played in the olympics last offseason and never really got to rest those ankles....i look for him to be stronger and better this season to come...if anyone can imagine lebron even better

LeBron will be ok. That kid is tough as lumber. Dikembe broke his face, and he didn't even miss any action from it.

it's not about the ankel being soft. he doesn't run up and down the court and the ankel just gives out like a chronic knee or back problem..

it's more like these dirty players like "BRUCE BOWEN", "ANDRES NOCHIONI" who step into the player when the player is in the air shooting their jumper.

when they step into the player, the player will come down at a weird angle on the other players foot..

to me that is more about the situation, as opposed to being about the players ankel... it could happen to anybody. it happen to duncan, who does not have a history.

LeBron is definatly a target for the dirty players. Who was it that stepped his feet under LeBron this season? I forgot who it was.

i dont remember that marty but i remember bowen doing it to carter.did lebron get stepped under?hmmm i cant remember.

it was a no-name from the bobcats i think.

I think with a full off season to rest it that the injury will be fine. What we see too much in the league is players get injuries, come back too soon, then screw up the injury even more after playing 2 games at 75% effectiveness. It happened to Grant Hill for what, 3 years?

As long as LeBron is smart and straps his ankle before all games and workouts, ankle problems should be minimal. Its just pot luck with the other injuries. One thing working against him is the more you play, the more likely he'll get hurt. I'll take the risk though and let him play.
