LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Jimmy Butler could also be positioning himself to make sure Philly offers him the 5 year max and possibly given a say on who they bring in with their other max slot that they have available. Remember Butler and Kyrie wanted to play together at one point. Tobias Harris or another wing might be a better fit than Kyrie. If Kyrie and Butler want to team up, Embiid and Simmons in Philly might be the only place that they can have a team with 4 stars.

Butler and Kyrie might not even see Simmons as part of their 4 headed monster but he would certainly get a star in return if they needed to rework the roster.

Oh i have no doubt Lebron is going to get his two stars to join him. 100 percent he has that new meme with him and his two new running mates in mid July. Man Lebron loves him some free agency. Even when he isnt a free agent he still dominates free agency. He sure never went this hard for free agents when he was here. Hes wining and dining them now.

Wish we could trade Love to the Lakers for the 4th pick. Lakers can get the band back together and have a ton of depth. That team is easily better than the 2016 Cavs team.

Kyrie
Lebron
Love

Kuzma
Ingram
Ball
Hart
KCP

Never thought Butler would be a great match with Lebron, he's not a good three point shooter. Actually Butler's game has always struck me as a (very) poor man's version of Lebron's game. They would kind of be taking turns playing the same role in the offense, except Butler would be worse. Not a great dynamic it seems like. But maybe it would lift Lebron's defensive effort by taking some offensive burden off him, and also it's hard to see Butler putting up with Lebron's defensive loafing.

Agreed. The time to pair Butler with LeBron was two seasons ago, but it was never a realistic opportunity. I don't see that experiment going well at this point in each of their respective careers.

Anyone who wants to get their Lakers/Lebron hate on really needs to read this ESPN article, a giant info dump of all the juiciest Lakers gossip about how dysfunctional the organization is:

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26821790/lakers-20-failed-reboot-nba-crown-jewel

Really nothing here that couldn't be fixed by a couple of great free agents but I guarantee it will have you snickering. Nobody comes off well.

Thanks for the article. Damn. Magic is an asshole. And Rich Paul( really Lebron) trying to get Walton fired 8 games into last season. Nice. Makes me so glad i am a Cavs fan. I felt dirty after reading that article. That whole Lakers org is just trash.

I can't wait until this disgusting human being retires. But problem is, he will still find ways to stay in the spotlight. i hope he fails at whatever he does post-basketball. he already has enough money to live 100 times over again.. failing post-basketball wont hurt him or his family.

Oh he will always be in the limelight. Shoot, we may go through all this again with Bronny!

Not even close to all time greats like Tim Duncan/Tom Brady, they always put team and winning over everything, LeBron puts his money/family/friends first over winning that’s the difference, a true winner that only cared about rings would’ve never went to the shit show Lakers.

A real winner/competitor would’ve taken way less money and went to a team that would be instantly favorites to win the chip to get his revenge and make the other team cry in the locker room, winning is secondary to LeBron, it’s family/posse/business/image than winning.

I think that people close to LeBron like Rich Paul and Maverick Carter convinced him to go to LA for personal/selfish reasons that had nothing to do with LeBron himself, they just wanted to live in Los Angeles.

That was the real news for me, that Magic is an asshole. Surprised as he never came across that way. But man does he seem like a dick in this piece.

I think all players consider their family in their decisions, its just lebron likes to use them to justify "his decisions" so he gets less backlash for leaving and going somewhere else, "my family, blahjay blah". it lessens the blow of the backlash that he may get. a deflection.

lebron is about lebron, period. his friends come next. but dont get it twisted, im willing to bet he will leave you high and dry without notice if it was in his best interest. so at the end of the day, lebron is about lebron is about lebron. thats it.

Does KD qualify?

Of course... this coming after he threw Pelinka under the bus.. tit for tat.

Just to be clear on this (and I'm no LeBron stan), his decesion came down to (2) factors:

1. His wife and kids love LA........keep in mind, Savannah and Gloria, both felt like going back to Cleveland was a sacrifice on their part. They LOVED Miami, and would've settled for multiple other spots ahead of Ohio when LeBron decidied to return. Savannah and Gloria both also hate Gilbert, and wanted no part of LeBron re-joining "his" organization.

2. LeBron is looking beyond basketball to his future in Los Angeles. I don't think I need to explain further. Guy has (3) up and coming (can't even say they're up and coming anymore) companies that are all very well located in LA. Something about potential customers flying out to LA for meetings rather than coming to Cleveland. Or LeBron having to travel more frequently, to meet potential clients in LA.......

To your point, I think LeBron's "team" is very happy to be in LA, but his "team" didn't have to convince him. He put his family and business interests first.
