It was tasteless and offensive.
Sorry again. Deleted, and you're right that it was even as a joke.

Huh?
The program starts in the third grade and they're 4-5 years in so the first class of kids are now in 7th grade. The have to meet certain school attendance and GPA requirements to graduate through the program. Being a specific race or ethnicity is not a pre-requisite though there are geographical and school district criteria, as it's not a program he established as a private citizen for all of Ohio or even all of NE Ohio.
It's a great foundation that he's set up and the type of long term philanthropic work that can be even more meaningful than single one time donations to a charity.
How many kids are we talking about, sounds like he plans on sending numerous kids to college, that is amazing.
There are 1,100 kids currently in the program.
I think Chase has agreed to provide technology for the kids, but I have to imagine LeBron has some other companies lined up to help the foundation pay for all those scholarships.

Edit: it's to UA but that is still a huge commitment and huge opportunity for some kids whose families simply don't have the money or don't exist as a traditional family. It's investment in the kids, incentive and motivation for the kids, and investment in Akron itself. Great stuff
if he does one of those lock in the funds now type deals, which he may, i think you can pay for college for about 20k a kid. Not sure if he is doing that, but that is an amazing amount of money.
Really quite cool. He can be over the top with some things for sure, like who builds a 40k square foot house in bath, lol, but he really does more for the community than any other person since Simon Perkins donated all of his land to start Akron.
Have to think Gilbert might potentially be a financial backer.
SmhI don't care if LeBron sends all of Summit county to college.
Win a freakin' championship for the city of Cleveland.
This is a pretty tasteless comment as well, tbh...I don't care if LeBron sends all of Summit county to college.
