I don't know, Mobley is better than in his rookie year. I think your projections are a little fast. If year 6 25 year old Mobley is producing at this level and rate of usage, I would be disappointed, but your missing positive signs as well of improved shot form, elite passing and improving physicality. It just takes time. Especially when he isn't getting the forced usage other similar types of players were given during their early years to develop.
I think getting in game reps to try to improve is very important for a big man. They aren't going to find the same level of size, strength, and shot blocking ability from even backups on the team, let alone guys they might practice with in the summer.
Like Evan Mobley has his older brother but Isaiah Mobley isn't going to really help him from any of the moves he needs to compete against NBA starters. Allen could help but he is putting in minutes on the court and has his own commitments in the offseason.
I think guards and wings can at least work on moves outside of the paint and you can find a solid defender to work again because there are just a lot more of the out there either on NBA benches or fighting to get on an NBA roster. Like Delly was there for Kyrie to go against in practice.
There just aren't many 7 footers to go again who are NBA starter level out there to work with. If you want your big men to improve they need in game reps. Giving them easy dunks and alley-ops just doesn't help them to progress their game. They need reps to work on moves to create for themselves.
