Why does it matter if his teammates are pissed at him (if they even will be at all)? It's not like they are going to freeze him out come playoff time. They need him to win and they know that.
In my opinion there is nothing wrong with calling out effort (especially on the defensive end) when that seems to be inconsistent with certain teammates. How many uncontested layups have the Cavs given up in their losses? Some of it may be the limitations of players, but some of it appears to be effort. Delly and LeBron have been the only consistent defenders through the first fifteen games.
Yeah I have to say screw them getting pissed off. They are getting paid millions and the best player in the world wants to make them all champions, make them relevant. So what if he's gonna call them out every now and then when he thinks the effort wasn't there. Boo-freakin'-hoo. Here's an idea, listen to the guy that's been there and done it and wants to take you there and can take you there if you man up and get the job done. Even if its a little awkward and annoying at times, he's allowed to be like that because of who he is and what America has made him since he was a kid. I mean the guy is practically the nicest teammate in the NBA compared to MJ or Kobe.
And then again, the teammates of MJ and Kobe hated them and still won, so...
