Monta Ellis

Rumors on ESPN say he could be seeking a sign and trade if GS doesn't pony up a hefty pay-raise.

Anyone think this could be a legitimate possibility?

Id love to have him on this team.

Re: Monta Ellis

No...

Because a). the Cavs wouldn't have the pieces to trade for such a great young talent like Ellis... We have pieces that would suit teams that are looking to rebuild, not re-tool or recoup a lot of a good young player...

b). the Warriors won't trade him... You can mark my words... There is no way they let him go... I bet they overpay him before they let him go...

Has his name been brought up yet? How, if at all possible, could we land him? There is an espn insider article that I can no longer access, that says he is looking to get paid. Could you see a scenario that would send him and BDiddy here for expirings? Probably not, but Ellis would be a PERFECT fit for us

Just gonna move this to trade ideas forum. Just dont want to get the main page clogged up with players that there has been no rumours or reports about. If there are some whispers about Ellis we'll bring it back to the Cavs page.

As for attaining Monta, I think the chances are extremely minimal at best.

I dont see the Warriors letting him walk. I'd imagine that they are still raw over the Arenas fiasco. I'd imagine there might, however, be a shot at getting someone off that roster for expiring to clear up some cap room (unless Davis walks).

Hes a short 2 guard.. and apparently the Cavs organization wants to make a push to be the best defensive team in the NBA. Having him at SG means we would have major match up problems when we play the Lakers, Heat, or any team with a good SG.

+ why would they trade Ellis for expirings???
