If we pick up a top notch SG and then resign Z, I think we should make a trade with Sasha or Jiri to get into the late first round to draft this guy.

He's not a pure point but he can defend PG, shoots well, is athletic and is a good ballhandler. He's a perfect backup point behind Snow who can give energy and be groomed. Plus with Lebron we don't need a pure point but we need one who can hit open shots and finish. This guy reminds me a lot Byron Scott was with Lakers. He could be a Scott type player for our Magic type player

Luther Head: 21 points, 8/11 shooting, 4/5 3-pointers, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, 1 turnover – Day Three of the camp belonged to Luther Head, as he put in what was probably the most dominant performance so far. A flurry of three-pointers midway through the second half gave him the great stat line, but Head excelled throughout the game. He showed lock-down defensive ability, quick hands in the passing lanes, terrific shooting ability, and good vision on the break. He didn't play much point guard, but did manage to show a bit of potential as a floor general when he had the ball in his hands. It is very obvious that even if he doesn't have the experience to be considered a natural point guard, he looks more than capable of defending the point guard position. Based on Head's performance in the camp thus far, we feel he is one of the few prospects in Chicago that has a legit shot in the first round. Head compares very favorably to last year's Chicago invitee and eventual first rounder Delonte West. In fact, he is probably better that West in nearly every facet of the game.

He sounds pretty legit. Do you have anymore info on this kid Pio?

Head sounds like a good option for us. He seems a bit like a 'tweener', too small for sg and doesnt have the skills of a pg. But as long as he has decent pg skills, can defend well, and hit shots it wont be as important for him to be a pure point next to LeBron. I would try to get one of the bigger name pg's in the draft first, but if we cant get them Head would be a nice pick up.

He sounds like a good pick up, and lets not forget his sweet name.

Head is more of a combo G with average at best PG skills. He does have a pretty solid all around game and could become a good bench player in the NBA.
Teams have to be careful not to overrate players just because they looked good in a pre-draft camp. However, Head was a solid college player at Illinois.

I wouldn't spend a 1st rounder on him but he is worth a shot in the 2nd round. I might be willing to trade Welsch for a pick to get him but I wouldn't trade Sasha to get him.

Sasha does not have much of a future on this team in my opinion because the Cavs expect Luke Jackson to be special. Therefore, Sasha will be a bench player, and if we can get a first rounder for him, you have to take that deal. There is always a chance that you land a superstar, think Gilbert Arenas. If you think about it, Sasha has no chance of being a legitimate starter on this team, so why not draft someone that has a minimal shot, it is still an improvement. Head would not be my first option, I think that Francisco Garcia would be a solid 2 guard in the NBA. Also, I have heard recently, that 3 teams with top 15 picks are very interested in trading it to us for Sasha, you gotta make that deal.

NBADraft.net has him projected at number 53 in the 2nd as of right now.

that is their scouting report. just from watching him in college i think he has the ability to be a solid pro, if the Cavaliers can only get into the 2nd rd i would definately take a look at him. i also like Daniel Ewing, Ronnie Turiaf, Jawad Williams, Saleem Stoudamire, Bracey Wright, and Julius Hodge who are all projected in the 2nd at this point.

Sean Banks is an interesting prospect as long as his attitude has changed.

He sounds like another Dajuan Wagner to me.

First off, Juanny was plagued with injuries throughout his stay here. If he was given more time, he probably would have fit into the system better. Regardless, Juanny won't be returning.

Head, on the other hand, isn't quite a clone of Wags. He plays good defense against both the 1 and 2, something that we're looking for dearly. He's showing good potential with good court vision and high basketball IQ. He seems more like an up-and-coming Bobby Jackson to me than one-dimension, undersized SG.

Here's the report from Day 4, via Hoopshype.com:

- Luther Head: This definitely wasn't his best game of the camp, but Head still managed to make his presence felt when his jumper wasn't falling, as he did many times this year playing for one of the best teams in the country in Illinois. Head did another solid job on the defensive end and made a number of very nice passes to his teammates, never forcing the issue and always playing to his strengths. He has everything you look for in an NBA combo guard, including very good athletic ability, strength, an outstanding perimeter shot, the hands and feet to guard both 1s and 2s and the right attitude to move the ball around and find open teammates. In the right system, this player will absolutely flourish. And it wouldn't be a stretch to say that he can even be a point guard eventually if his ballhandling improves a bit. He is really lacking experience in this area, but shows enough potential in other skills to make teams forget about that.

I like this report. It further proves that he's not the next Wagner and has good potential in the NBA. If we get a mid-late first round pick, then I think we should spend it on this kid.

His senior year stats:
15.9ppg (46.3%), 3.9apg, 1.5spg

That's playing at the 2, I believe. He just needs to work on his ballhandling skills to limit his turnovers, he already seems like a great passer.

i'll take HEAD, HODGE, or GARCIA --

i like garcia cause he can score many ways plus defend--
i like hodge because he will "d" up like a skinny ARTEST ..

luther head can do a bit of both.. a taller LINDSEY HUNTER if you will...

If the Cavs do trade into the draft then it has to be for a player that they've targeted, not just to get a pick and draft whoever is left at that spot. I would think the backcourt, especially a PG prospect would have to be the priority.

I'm in favor of drafting Jarrett Jack if you can get in position to take him. He should be a mid 1st rounder and could be there at Memphis' 19th pick which is rumored to be available and shouldn't cost a ton to get.
Another possible name could be Roko Leni Ukic a 20 year old European PG.

I'd prefer the Cavs try to get a PG who can be projected to be a starter for them at some point. The Cavs already have good depth on the wing and will probably be adding another player there in free agency.

I like Jack as well but I have feeling the only way we get high enough in the draft to take him (I predict low teen's) will be to give up Gooden, which I'm not sure will happen

Head wont be around in the draft long enough for us to grab him.

I'm sure he will. If we nab the 18th pick from Memphis through purchase/trade, then he should still be available. Even though he was a standout at the Chicago camp and NCAA tourney, he's still an undersized SG that's not quite a PG. Has good defense and offensive skills, but still lacking a bit on court leadership and handling. He'll slip down to guaranteed money, but not past where we'll be picking, most likely.
