Markieff Morris Wants Out of Phoenix

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Take it for what it's worth, but a source told me last week that Pelicans aren't just going to give up Anderson. I'm new at this whole stats journalism thing, and it is really just for fun, so I don't really know how much I trust him.

Nonetheless, he said they see him as a great compliment for Anthony Davis and a good veteran presence. If they trade him it will be a very fair deal. If he's right, I'd say the Cavs would need to part with the TPE, a pick, and find a way to get NOP a young talent.

Ultimately, my view is that NOP will want two of the three asset types: salary cap relief, a good draft pick, and/or a young talent. If the Cavs can find a way to get NOP two of those three, in my mind, New Orleans takes that deal. But the TPE on its own will not do it.

We can't combine the TPE with anything else anyway. As far as NO goes if they're holding onto Anderson for the right deal than they are doing the right thing. He's a great fit for them and he's one of the best in the league at what he does.

Good call on the TPE. Yeah, I don't know how much I can trust this guy, but what he is saying does make sense. They also have guys like Tyreke Evans, who do not fit on that team, and those are who I think they will trade.

You can't combine exceptions, but we can include a draft pick with it.

If we were going to include another player, we'd make it 2 separate deals.

Ryan Anderson for the TPE works. Whatever else is needed as a form of compensation for Anderson can be done in a separate deal. If more pieces are moving in the trade, it's not hard to envision making salaries work without a third team.

Yeah, that's more of my point. I think we'd need to get a third team involved if we want Ryan Anderson.

Markieff would perhaps be the best realistic option for just the TPE. Problem is we wont just be paying the 8M he's owed this year, we will paying over 32M, due to the tax. For that reason I doubt we really trade for anyone that is making that kind of money using just the TPE.
