I wonder if Milwaukee, under truth serum, would extend Delly that same offer if they had a crystal ball that allowed them to see how Delly has played coupled with Brogdon's development..
I'm not so sure the answer would be "yes". Maybe they still extend an offer, but maybe its not 4/36....maybe its 4/25...or 3/20, or somewhere in between. Maybe the Cavs match at $6-7Mil/year instead of 9...
Delly's shooting has been very very bad. He really struggles with all things scoring without the benefits of constant wide open shots/lanes and the passes from LeBron. He runs an offense decently enough though. I thought his assist numbers would pick up a little more than they have though, I mean they're up, but not like I thought they would be. But again, he's not passing to Kyrie/Bron/JR/lobbing to TT.
That hamstring seems to be a regular issue for him as well, he's not very durable. Wears down easily with starters responsibilities/minutes it seems. The one thing nobody is really talking about though....Delly is struggling defensively. I think him trying to take a more pronounced role in the offense coupled with him guarding starters every night for awhile, night in and night out, plus the hamstring of course...it's all combined to have Delly not looking like the guy he was last year.
I'd still take him in a heartbeat though. Still wish we kept him. I think he would be much closer to his peak numbers from last year if he stayed here.
